I need your help. I have been having problems with my vehicle not starting for a while. I checked spark and signal to the injectors with a noid light. All checked out. I suspected I had faulty injectors so I went and bought new SARD 550cc injectors, and a Megan FPR with gauge. I put everything in and still Nada.

One thing I did notice now was the fact that my fuel pressure goes to about 5psi and falls back down to zero when I put the key in the position right b4 I am about to crank. I hear the fuel pump turn on and then what sounds like fuel falling back into the tank (quarter tank of gas in the car and quiet garage) My question is this...when you take the key to this position shouldn't fuel pressure go all the way to 43 or whatever you have it set at and HOLD the pressure? Do fuel pumps go bad if the car has not been used for an extended period? It is a Walbro 255lph pump in there.

Oh...I checked for fuel leaks in and around the fuel rail. There is no fuel dumping into the cylinders or coming out elsewhere. The injector and FPR setup is leak proof.

sounds like a bad pump.....the pump should put it up to 40-45psi than itll shut off if ui dont start it....but the pressure should hold there as long as the inj. or inj orings are leaking or there arent any leaks anywhere else. or the fpr OR there is a plunger thing thats in the pump that closes holds the fuel pressure also.....

did you try adjusting the FPR? it must be set all the way open if its only getting 5 psi.

sounds like a bad fuel pump indeed. Unless you have fuel leaking else where on the feed, or leaking injectors

I checked for leaky injectors. Pulled the rail...turned the key...no leaks. What actually holds the pressure between the pump and the fpr? Is there a one way valve somewhere?

Coolwhip...where is FL are you?

so given that it makes the same noise (gas falling in the tank) with both the stock fpr and the new fpr with gauge...it has to be the pump. Thanks guys.

because there has been a rash of people trying to use big injectors and stock ECUs together, I just thought I would make sure you werent one of them, you pass with flying colors, thanks for not being dumb.
