Not sure. This was "back in the day", so it was probably the normal one.

I bought the "high pressure" one thinking surely there couldn't be a downside ... lol.

Might have needed a new FPR regardless, but... oh, that's something else to put on my list, a proper electronic fuel pressure gauge. I still have this diagnostic mechanical gauge T'd in and ziptied in place. D:

I think you'll be fine without a gauge ;)
the gauge is needed only for setting up the FPR after all :)

I think you're better off putting the money towards a J&S safeguard, which will allow you to run insane amounts of boost and not worry about the motor blowing sky high... plus you definitely won't have to worry about something stupid, such as bad gas :gapteeth:

the stock knock sensor and ECU response time can only do so much

So if I were to order a Nismo FPR from FRSport.com, should I get the Type A or Type B? And do I need some sort of bracket??

as already stated ;)

I recommend replacing the screws that mounts the FPR to the fuel rail with actual bolts... IIRC the thread size is M5x0.8, or maybe it was M4.5? Use lock washers too of course!

You will need some kind of gauge in order to SET the FPR, if it's adjustable, but then you can disconnect it, so a simple mechanical gauge that can be T'd in is fine.

Easiest way to set it is to remove the fuel pump relay and jumper the pump to always on when car ign = on/start, then just put key to on. If you don't do this, the ECU shuts it off when not running after 5 or 10 seconds. And setting while running means having to take into account manifold pressure +- from ambient, which is tricky to say the least! When not running, manifold pressure is ambient - so you can just directly set the fuel pressure to the correct 36.3 psi.
