I read on the earlier part of the thread that Tacomas have better resale value. Yes. While this is true,
That hasn't been True with my Nissan Truck's, and the notion that Toyota Truck's have a better resale value, is exactly what the Toyota Sales People told me over and over.
First of all, a Toyota equipped the same as a Frontier Cost's way more. In the case of my '13 SVV6, the Toyota would have cost several Thousand $'s more. So naturally a Toyota will have a higher resale value,, because it cost's more.
However in the case of the '93 4 cyl. KC AT 2wd, that I had for 20 year's,, it had a higher Book value,, and Resale value higher than the same year comparably equipped Toyota Truck, cause after I sold mine,, I looked up the value on a Toyota Truck. I sold that '93 for 4K $'s,, and the 1st person to look @ it,, bought it.
On the '13 SVV6 Frontier that took it's place, according to TrueCar.com, My Truck is still worth 1K $'s more than I paid for it brand new back in July of 2013. For a New Truck,, that speak's volume's as far as resale value.
Personelly Speaking,, when it come's to Resale Value on a Nissan Truck, The Condition of the Truck,, mean's more than anything. I've found,, through experience,, that people will pay good money for a Nissan Truck,, that is well cared for. On the other hand,, Nobody want's a Ragged Out, Rawhided Truck,, with hole's in the seat,, no matter what brand it is.
Believe it or not,, a knowleageable used Truck Buyer will look for sign's that the Truck has been abused in the Mud, Climbing Through huge Boulder's, and such. Damage to the undercarriage, Dent's, Scrape's,, Out of shape Bumper's, Broken Tail Light's,, etc etc,, are tale tale sign's that they look for,, as well as a Filthy Engine. When the Buyer see's that stuff,, guess what,, the Resale Value Drop's Like A Rock.
Take good care of Your Nissan Truck,, and don't believe those Toyota Sale's People, cause that's about all that they can say, cause with a Nissan Truck,, we just get way more,, for the same money.
