I'm having problems with my front passenger window. I push button to close it, but when it reaches the top, it drops down by about 2" I've disconnected the battery and tried keeping my finger on the switch. This started happening after programming a new key fob. Did I mess something up in the process? How do I fix this? Thanks.

try this push the DOWN power window switch and hold the button for about 5 seconds after it is all the way down, then roll up window and release the switch

The '04's have a "reset button" that you need to remove the door panel to access. Raise the window all the way manually, then press the button and run the window to the bottom while holding it. Use the first (manual) switch detente while doing this, don't use the second (auto) detente position or it won't take. On some models the door switches also need to indicate doors-closed while timing the windows.

Yep, VStar650CL knows of what he speaks. My passenger has needed the reset twice, so I'm well aware of it myself.

One added note is in case you can't get to it right away, the way to get the window all the way up is to only push the switch to where the window starts to go up. It's a 2 position switch, first is it moves but only while you're holding it, the second is all the way up, the "auto" function.

That reset process is in the stickies somewhere BTW. It's a known quirk that can be fixed in 5 minutes.
