Front liscence plates

Yep I think I lost my front plate. woops It was in my back seat, but nope, can't find it. And I live in NY where you need a front plate. Still haven't been pulled over for it, but who knows.

They have asked where mine was when ive been pulled over before. I just say that it didnt have one when I got the car and havent had the chance to get over to the dmv yet to get a new one. So far they have bought it

in the pic it show the plate facing down is that legal in the states that require a front plate?

probably not, but how will they know? by the time you're stopped, the air resistance is low enough that the hinge will fall back to normal placement

I know this thread died out, but I was out of town for a while and just got back to reading this board. I live in NY where the law requires a front plate. Yeah I used to think "they wont write a ticket just for front plate", until about 5 days ago. I was driving back to school from home on a sunday night, and passed a cop coming towards me. He whipped the car around and came after me. WHen he pulled me over, he told me it was illegal to not have a plate on the front, which I already knew. I explained to him that there was no mounting bracket, which there isnt, but he still wrote me a ticket anyway. I wasnt doing anything wrong, but he did tell me my window tint was illegal, even though I dont have any on the front. I had to roll up the windows and prove it to him, and he proceeded to tell me that he pulled me over before and warned me for window tint, but it never happened. I guess the guy was just looking for somethign to do. What Im wondering is, does anyone have any idea on how much I will have to pay for this ticket? Thanks!

Yeah I got a fix it ticket in CA for having my plate in the windshield. I've got these little suction cups that poke through the hole and are held in by little plastic rods, then pushed the bottom of the plate between my dash and the windshield. Doesn't rattle but yeah lost 10 bucks to the fix it ticket. But when I did go to the police station, the cop I was talking to about the plate was *****ing about meter maids (which gave me the ticket). So I guess in this case, the cops aren't too bad, but the bringers of hell (and the boot for your wheels) on 3 wheels are.
