I just did this not too long ago and can't remember myself but I think it is either 19 or 21mm.

That is if your wanting to remove the main caliper bracket from the spindle. If your doing a complete brake job (new or turned rotors/ new pads) this will have to come off either way.Good luck man!

The one on the right goes on the drivers side. What brand are the rotors. I did this today as well. I used CTec rotors and Akebono ceramic pads.

What brand rotors? Power slot or EBC?? I see the Hawk pads. Looks good man. Let us know how well they stop. Make sure to follow the break in procedure first!

FYI- gold zinc plating is already warn off (2 days of light braking) where the pads connect to the rotor surface. No big deal as that is the last place for rust and the zinc is for rust, but geeeezzz I liked the gold!!

That's totally normal. I had cadmium plated rotos on another car and that was great. Stayed silver forever.

Did you thoroughly clean and regrease the caliper pins? They will stick otherwise and degrade the pads too quickly!

That's a good tip for everyone, but that's not what caused the coating to wear away. It wasn't intended to stay on the rotor surface (pad contact area) once it gets used. I too used these on my previous mustangs and my last two Silverados I had. The coating will wear off, but it should stay coated where the pads do not touch the rotors though. Drips, is it still on the remaining parts of the rotors where the pads don't touch them? It should be. The whole reasoning for the coating is to resists rust from forming.

Yes it is. My point was solely for where the pads touch and I knew it would wear, but it was so fast!

I agree!

Sorry I confused people. My point was a general one with pad or rotor replacement, in regard to cleaning the caliper pins when you do this, since sticking calipers is often the cause for future faster pad wear or brake failures, not rotor wear.

Yup! Mine gets "cleaned" of rust in that area every time I brake ...
