Don't buy same sized rotors, and pads (Even aftermarket) expecting a dramatic instantanious use difference in stopping distance. At best you will avoid dramatic fade over the stock components or you willl avoid accidental warping of the rotors.
Go to EBC's website and read the brake in procedure if you haven't already. It takes a bit more care (and patience) to get the pads to their sweet spot, but once there you won't be dissappointed. Realize, that doing a 'brake check' right after installing the ebc pads is not the desired method.

Compare that with the other manufacturers you are considering.
If after committing to the break in work and you understand that they actually get better over time, then there are other things to consider... like 'how much brake dust do the pads generate?' I can say from experience (and of course the marketting guys at EBC have stated it too) that the amount of dust is far less than the stock. How it comapres to the other aftermarket performance pads, I can't say. But, if you get tired of cleaning your wheels because of the brake dust, it is definitely an added plus.
In the end there are lots of good brake products out there, and most are superior to stock in certain metrics - so it is hard to go too far wrong. Luckily, the brake system components can be upgraded at a relatively affordable price without immediately going to a more expensive big brake kit.
of course, I'd like to hear what you decide to go with (even if it isn't ebc) and hear some anecdotal experience about how they work out for you.
