As an Aristo, it had a twin turbo 2JZ in it. The Lexus GS (USDM variant) came with a non-turbo 2JZ-GE. Plus there's that non-USDOT and HTSB compliance aspect to consider. The car either wasn't converted properly or someone effed up the paperwork. That's generally how a lot of cars imported from Japanland get sent to the crusher.
