I'm feeling really good about my Y33 these days (xcept for this pesky "miss" that we can't solve). I may even be a little cocky about it. So here's the challenge...if you have a modded Y33, let's see how hot it is! Put me in my place and show me that i don't have the hottest 97-01 Q on Nico. Again this is a FRIENDLY CHALLENGE (i know how much we all love our Q's!), i really just want to see what's out here in NICOLAND.

Here's a list of all my mods with a few pics...Exterior-Staggerd 20" Asanti AF145's (Black w/Machined Face, chrome lips) w/2.5" front lip, 4" rear-Stretched 225/35-20 Toyo Proxes 4 on front, 255/30-20 rear-Custom made billet hub centric 10mm spacers for front wheels-Custom made 1.25" lowering springs by Butler Tire (Atl)-Wicked Tuning pillow ball tension rods-Custom medium/light smoked headlights, foglights, taillights.-Eliminated "suitcase muffler" for custom straight pipes & tips-Custom painted factory grill-Sylvania Silverstar bulbs in head, blinker, & fog lights. (HID's coming b4 Thanksgiving)-Replaced all emblems w/new & debadged rear "Infiniti" logo. now G5 instead of Q45

Interior-Grant wood steering wheel insert-40% windshield, 35% side, 20% rear window tint-Panasonic double din DVD player w/iPod intergration-Memphis Audio 6.5" front door, 5.25" rear door, 6.5" rear deck speakers-OZ Audio 12" sub in custom Super Bass Pro Box-SPL 600watt 4channel RMS amp on mids & highs, Audiobahn 1200watt RMS mono amp on sub

Pics

Well Ladies & Gents, thats my story & i'm stickin to it. now as Jay-Z says, Show Me What You Got!

Very nice car.... now you need to get yourself a hold of the tein springs and KYB shocks and make it a hell of a lot nicer. Not a fan of the tire choice on those wheels, but to each their own. Id like to see some meaty 245s up front and some 275s out back, but I dont know if your offsets will allow you to do so (doesnt really look like it)

Honestly, a little drop will make that car look a MILLION times better, IMO!! Its a great looking ride, which is what Y33's do best.

I appreciate the compliments guys. as i read over the post i realized that i forgot to list a coupe of mods. i have also added...

-Sytek 4500 car alarm w/auto start -all new front end suspension bushings-custom painted brake calipers

i also feel the need to add a shameless plug for myself. i do sales with Butler Tire in Atlanta (Austell location) and if there are any wheel/tire/suspension/brake needs any members have, i'm glad to help. Store number is 770-941-7422. ask for GJ.

i dropped it 1.25". i didnt go any lower because i have a pretty steep driveway. as for the tires, i have heavy stereo equip & regular rear seat passengers. with the ET35 wheels (perfect alignment w/fenders) i avoid scrubbing by just a couple of millimeters when suspension is fully compressed. i feel you though, would've loved to go lower. i may still go with some KYBs though.

by the way, does my overall styling choice fit VIP? EXE? DUB? i don't really care, but different people label it differently...wuthchu think?

What you posted would be considered Dub style. What Qproject posted would be a well executed EXE car. Notice the huge difference lowering and wheel fitment makes on a car.

Looks great! a nice change to all the junked up ones here in Baltimore! The only thing I would do to it is to black out the chrome trim surrounding the rear license tag opening to give it a cleaner look-why the factory decided to highlight that somewhat odd shape opening with chrome is puzzling to me

looks good for that "DUB style" but i would prefer the aggressive fitment and lower stance, (VIPSTYLE).. check out vipstylecars.com but prepare to get flamed if you post pictures of your ride!

Mine falls under "aggresive". This car just needs a few more choice mods to make it stand out even more. There are tons more 97-01 Q45's that looks better but I just want to show the car and it is for sale. Right now it looks like a lowrider hehe.

Mod list is shortUniversal Air SuspensionAmistad Type D wheels *oh by the way, you like lips? )19x10 front19x11 rearthats it.

For the Y33 I would say 19x10 0 offset up front and 19x11 +5 in the back slammed with max camber

I have not seen that car around BLount County Tennessee. I noticed the Tennessee tag in the photo. Do you live in Atlanta and have your car registered in blount county. I could see y when you have to pay all those taxes on your birthday for having a luxury car. Is there a shop in blount county that you would recommend?

BTW nice car. Definitely like the smoked lights.

I'm a G50 man myself but have some nice ultra-low mileage interior parts for my Y33 brethren. Please take a look when you have time...

Actually I have thought about getting a less aggresive wheel set since this is not everybodies cup of tea, and this is not how I wanted the car to look as it is not finished.

When I bought those wheels, my plan was to make the car fit the wheels, IE if I had to put on a blister kit, fender flares or aggresively pull the fender and camber the wheels so be it. But family comes first and this car never saw it's finished potential.

As far as selling it, I can ALWAYS take the wheels off and sell it for the blue book value for the condition and mileage of the car itself. Either way I wasnt trying to make any profit selling this car as is or without the wheels

Good looking out though

well to me it was a great deal... taking in consideration the price of the coil overs, their functionality, what i am looking for, and the help of that Van provided, the installation place Van suggested, the time it took to get here from Japan, etc....

Yeah I agree, the insurance coilovers are a great set.

I have Algernon's which are identical to the insurance set. When installed and set up properly (using strut body to lower and not the strut rod) , the set is very comfortable and very strong even at a slammed position. The absorbing rate is much stronger and quicker, your car will react more resiliently and will protect the wheels better.

I've had my algernon's for over 4 months now and NOT ONCE, have I bottomed out. I am set about 3.5 - 4 inches lower than stock height.

u will not get this with lowering springs and-or with generic struts -aftermarket struts.

I have only scraped once, and that is on my own driveway, so I had to rotate an exhaust clamp so the bolt does ont scrape. I have not had a chance to fine tune the dampening yet, I have just been way too busy- but even without that- the ride is one of the best I have seen for a car that heavy and low.
