So I found an engine harness for my RB25DET NEO, I find it difficult to find info on my motor unless I know EXACTLY what to look for so while I search I want to ask you all. Is there any difference between an AUTO and 5 SPD engine harness? Like a TPS plug or sensor being different. I have no reference for my motor because I don't know what transmission it had. Just dont want to order the wrong harness!

If any of the normal RB folks are irritated by my odd little questions I'm sorry! :gapteeth: Can't wait to have my car done so I can finally update my build thread :mike

Thanks for any help u can give

Not sure about the neo, but know the S2 harness I had a different connection setup for the TPS. It had two connectors vs. 1. Not a deal breaker at all. I think one of the plugs was intended to trigger kickdown for the auto trans.

Yeah the NEO I read has a traction control sensor deal that I dont need to use (off the throttle body), maybe its the same sorta situation. I just wouldn't want to order this harness then have to pay to ship it back if it doesn't work out...I've emailed NEO owners for pics of their engine and pics of any sensors/plugs not much luck tho :squint: Spent a couple hours yesterday looking for my answer, anyone have other RB forums I may not know of to look for info on my NEO?

I called and the harness I found is a 5spd, the engine block my head came off of did not have mounting points for the transmission braces on either side...no clue if its from a GTT or a Stagea. wouldn't know if there is a difference guess Ill cross my fingers and order it tomorrow...

the tcs doesnt get used, only the tps gets plugged in on the stock throttle body but overall i think theres like 3 plugs 2 on one side n 1 on the other iirc....

on the transmission harness is just like the ka, its a separate harness with the exception of the rb doesnt use a separate ecu..mine was auto converted to manual however i dont know what wires were rewire if any... i got my harness done by wiring specialties btw...

carlH is the one person who can give u a clear answer on ur questions, i now hes done a few neo harnesses so shoot him an pm or email..

I'm using an rb20 transmission and 20 lower harness so that isnt an issue. I'm literally about to order it now so how it all works out.

I am ordering an E61 MAF today aswell its $100 shipped to my door from Japan, does that seem like too much I know a 97 Q45 MAF is the EXACT same aswell as a few other usdm mafs but I cannot locate any currently. Is it worth me paying that much?

appears e61 is just slightly newer and I think from thr r34 they said so I chose that, exact same as e60 I just figure newer = better.

First off THANK YOU it is hard to find someone who will discuss the NEO with me, I feel like I bother the higher ups when I ask questions but as you know its hard to get FACTS when it comes to our motors.

I plan to take MANY pictures when I get my harness and hook it up to the motor (Motor is in my garage til I make sure it's 100% ready to start once installed)

This is my "build thread" my-rb20-s14-diana-running-log-t510549.html perhaps once the motor is in I'll rename the thread to a more search friendly title for future NEO owners, didn't expect to do the swap haha.

Will I have a post removed if I post a diagram and pics of my F3 plug rewire for the S14?

I still need to physically have my harness with me to match up to the R34 diagram and label for the F3 rewire to match my chassis plug (M63 right name for female end?) I cant find a nice big picture of the harness for me to see what I need to look for so reading the diagrams online just frustrate me :soap: Plus everyone had no clue what was up when they got their rb25's cuz like 5% of them are NEO's :gotme They seem to be BA

Alot of users have helped me on this RB forum, I'll have to post a big thank you once it's running and can stop PM'ing you
