you can beat civics >=]

for $800, you can buy a CAI, exhaust and some other mod and that can get you about 15hp =]

Worry about enjoying the car and customizing it to your tastes not how many civics you can beat.

With 800 bucks get an intake, exhaust, and a little bit of suspension work.

Also just FYI....the sig of "don't cry when u get beat by a 16yr old" might not be the best of ideas. Lots of people around here have fast cars, and a good portion of the cars out on the road with beat a bone stock s14

Regardless, congrats on the great find and post up some pics of it when you get a chance.

Hmm... might want to decide on a name and stick with it. Anyways, welcome to NICO!

You got a steal, no doubt.

For $800, you have plenty of options. Look into what you want the car to do. Personally, on a 240, I'd probably get a short shifter (I love mine, single best mod I've gotten thus far and also the cheapest, lol) and save the rest til you can get up a grand+ for coilovers (unless you don't plan on heavy suspension work, your goal being a drag car, which I wouldn't recommend with a 240).

Civics can be surprising, actually, particularly if you're not sure if they're actually gonna go, thus you roll forward a little to see their reaction, then they take off before you can readjust your launch... that bastard... Anyways, yeah, figure out what you want out of the car, go from there.

Nice find! Just take care of that car. I would hate to hear about it getting wreck before its even broken in.My advice is to work from the ground up. Start with tires, suspension, and brakes. Then worry about your virgin motor.

sorry i love civics but only clean ones. most people are just arrogant. civics are awesome when tuned right they own. i love 240s more than civics though um stock KAs pretty much suck even after being built its still loses to too many cars. just think of it like this 240 vs lets say v6 camry low end model ill probably put my money on the camry lol but yeah for 800 bucks u might wanna just hold on to it and keep working/earning if youre looking into power either u can turbo the motor or swap in something. most common swaps are non other than the sr20det.

oh yeah and stock suspension isnt as bad as most people say. its more than most people on this forum can handle anyway. most people dont have the skill to even drive the 240 stock to the fullest anyway. so basically tuning is just for fun dont expect to be all crazy that goes for automatic/manual too

if youre interested in looks put the money into it if youre really really really interested in strict racing only you can do it stock till ur 30-40 and still wont be able to drive the car to the fullest probably.

most people are probably saving for (or something close): SR, clutch lsd, coilovers, struts/sways, some bars/rods braces, a bucket seat/harness, exhaust, intake etc.

seriously though im doing all that stuff to be cool and not really because i can handle the power/handling.

please dont hate on cars. mustangs, civics and whatever ugly stupid cars out there have their goods and bads.

shiet, i bet my friend's civic can burn alot of people here that have SRs...

i only like clean civics also, those riced out crazy ones... wow... no thanks... but yea the right tuner can have one fast *** civic... my friend, co-owner of c2, has one fast *** civic. Some guy from 4-ace also has a fast *** civic that kept up with a skyline, think it was an r33, but a pretty modded r33 from motorex (at least i heard from my friend driving the r33 that he kept up with them) and his civic was clean too

anyway, there are some civics that are nice, but a majority of civics are so riced out, they lost their respect as a nice car

A co-worker of mine has a type SH (vtec) prelude and I out ran him with just exhaust and an intake. Preludes are pretty heavy and give up a lot of power to the torque converter. Be carefull against civics though, specially hatchbacks, they are considerably lighter -see signature.

i like riced out cars, especially clean riced out civics and such cuz they arent so boring looking. Its like going to car shows without the entrance fee.

yeah i know the 240 isnt fast...i still love it tho....and yes mine is a 5spd.... and when i said i hate civics sorry to guys who own or know someone who owns a respectible civic but at my highschool there are too many kids with the civics/preludes/integras with like a full body kit type r spoiler neon all that other crap and they think they are like the fastest ever always revving thier rice boxes up in the parking lot . guess i am just prejustice to those cars.. but some respect is due for atleast trying. I will not go for the riced out look. I like the clean looking cars im going for some black wheels so i have black on black and getting a full exaust and intake first the rest shall come with money and i do plan on an SR swap sometime in college when hopefullly i have a better job than mcD's

for $800. start saving for a Rb20 swap, should only cost you around $1500 or so.

Nice find on the car.

yeah most hondas are just riced out with neons, alluminum spoilers, gay rims like racing hart, cheap fireball or revolution mufflers, z3 stuff all over so yeah its common for most people to consider them gay cars. i mean they look gay and usually have less power than stock haha but then there are nice clean ones lowered with nice rims and lot sof expensive goods. any car done right can look nice even cressidas lol

You said it man. I mean I'm a little biased against some domestics and I just don't prefer FF vehicles, but go to (or even better, articipate) in an autocross or two and you'll see them doing quite well on plenty of track setups. But that's right, there is something to be learned and appreciated by every car.
