We did the same with my wifes QX60. Took a one way flight to Atlanta from upstate NY and made a road trip out of it on the way home (visited the Atlanta Aquarium, Myrtle Beach, etc.). Got the QX60 for probably $3k less than what I would have paid up here (after probably overpaying for my M35x and M56x at the same dealer by a total of $5k). I will likely never buy a car locally again. There is DEFINITELY better deals to be had even with cost of travel elsewhere in the US.C6Joe1957 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 4:27 pmFrom your profile it states that you may live in Oregon. At the beginning of Covid-19 last April 2020, I was furloughed. So I decided to find a car and after 3-weeks of fairly intense searching I found my 2012 M56 Sport down in Los Angeles. I made a great deal on it and took the Amtrak from Olympia, 33 hours later I picked up the car at 11:00pm and drove it back in 16 hours. Sorry for the long referral but I discovered far more choices, especially for the V8's (lots of M37's) are further away from the Pacific NW.
I have to admit that even owning a 08 G37 Sport, the 1,100 mile trip was more educational in that I was able to learn the new functionality of the car and accessories along the way.
I did find this one in the Dallas TX area that might meet your expectations: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventory ... =291737509
That must of been a great drive up the east coast together discovering your new car as much as mine was driving up the west coast. It's funny how we can figure out that our own market values do not mean that we have to be stuck buying locally.Ilya wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 7:45 pm

Thank you! I just sent a message. Bought parts for the M56 when they first came out. I do live in Oregon and as long as the timing chain recall has been performed, I plan to buy.C6Joe1957 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 4:27 pmFrom your profile it states that you may live in Oregon. Congratulations on your find!
I'm buying based off the pics. 2 owners, serviced every 5k and the timing chain recall performed was all I really cared about with this car. I called every major city Infiniti dealer W of CO so they would keep a lookout, even messaged you on YT. I was pretty determined for this car, more so because of the Headers now being available.EdBwoy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 8:20 amCongrats on the find. May your new purchase treat you well for years to come. Assuming you already looked at the records and are satisfied with the history of the vehicle, remember to keep an eye on your oil level.
Also, I always ask the seller to not start the engine at all on the day of purchase, not even to move it out of a parking spot. An engine started cold will tell you a lot of things that a warm one won't.
I might be preaching to the choir here, but this info is mainly for the benefit of the general public who might come across this thread in the future.
Thanks! 105k miles. Website listed $19k, I asked for 16k and a friend from TX planned on driveing to OR. The next day, I received the text about the Cat. Dealer offered the car at 13k or they're sending to auction. Shipping is now around $1,500Congratulations on your find!
When you get the chance post up more details about the car.
Nice! An S with the Aero Package. Sounds like a road trip if you can manage that.trayday wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 6:07 pmThanks! 105k miles. I haven't driven the M56s but loved the connectivity of my rwd M45.
Besides the power difference, which did you prefer to drive?
I also wanted this package for the brakes and LSD, open diffs aren't as much fun lol. Thanks for the link, definitely good info to have.C6Joe1957 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 10:30 amNice! To verify the original equipment on the car go to: https://monroneylabels.com/ It's worth the $7.50, you can print out the original window sticker, warranty info, and see all the recall issues that were completed or available.
