Yeah, what does ceramic coating do? just heat resistance? And how much are external wastegates caus i dont want to pay an arm and a leg for a turbo just to get my motor running

An external gate can run anywhere from $200-$400 depending on which one you get and from where. The manifolds can be made for whatever you want either it be internally or externally gated. Ceramic coating is around $200-$250 and is aids in heat suppression.

The prices are nearly the same; the only difference is one have a dump tube and a flange. Would be very wise to use an external gate if you are using a T3/T04E. Dee

As soon as the new CA18's get here, I will be installing 2 of them into two of my 240s in which they will have the custom manifolds. I will actually have these externally gated, but they can be made to any spec you desire or whatever fits your application. But when you're spending that kind of money, you may as well go for the gusto.

Is there anyother place where I can buy manifolds for my CA18DET engine?

ssautochrome told me that they where still out and I want one "today". :(

not really... that was why we were so excited about this one

your only option now is custom (even if you can source a jdm manifold alot of them have steering shaft/brake booster clearance problems!)

Speed costs and custom work is no exception to the rule. Until someone comes out with a ready-for-production manifold, be prepared to pay good money for one.

I am willing to pay $4-500 for a good manifold. I don't concider that to be a bargin. I live in sweden and to get something custommade costs about $800-900US or more to get it fairly good.

From an email sent to me by Ron Fife at Racecar Engineering:Quote »The $449.00 includes pistons, pins and locks. The ring set is $88.00. We are cusrrently out of stock but should have them in approx 10 days.[/quote]didn't seem to sound like a group buy was much of an option... but $537 for forged pistons, rings, pins and locks is a pretty damn good deal... sorry that none of these things really fell through guys :(

not sure what happened with that SSautochrome manifold  did someone win it or what? last I saw it was something crazy like $400!

I am currently undecided as to what I'm doing. I just heard from Nissan that all my parts are in (I'll post a complete list of what all I got, but its pretty long!:pface)... after this weekend's drift event I'm starting to think I'll stop at 200whp and focus on suspension! maybe spend that insurance money on a nice set of coilovers:) oh well...

racecar engineering is where the pistons are (Ryan posted their web address somewhere)...

I hope those don't crack like all the other SS autochrome manifolds I have heard about and seen pics off.

Doesn't Unstable-hybrids make a T3 topmount manifold for the CA? I am starting to gather info to have one made for myself. If I cannot get one made for a reasonable price, I will try making a log-style manifold at home with some pipe or square-section steel. If anyone has experience with this, please let me know.

i know this is probably a dumb question but would i need to get a top-mount mani if i just got something like a t28? i'm just curious if there'd be any sort of fitment issue there. i've always been under the impression that the t28 was physically the same or about the same size as a t25.

They are the same... a little bigger but same flange so you dont need to get a manifold period.. just tack a t28 on to the stock manifold and go give it hell :). Thats why most people ask around for the s15 bb t28's caus you save an assload if yout not me by not having to buy a $550 manifold.
