And still kicking a$$ in CS. Awesome :)

Ya it's amazing how fast time flies. I still remember HS as if it were yesterday sometimes. But then others. I can't remember much at all...

well heres some numbers on the lightning:

2ooo ford lightning5.4 liter supercharged v8:36ohp 44oft lbs of tqtruck weighs: 4764lbso-6o: 5.5seco-1oo: 13.8sec1/4mile: 14 flattop speed: 139mph (limited)

so no a stock sr2o'd 24o wouldnt hang with a lightning, however with minor mods, itd be a nice race, Budweizzer has a near stock sr2odet 24o, and his best time was 14.49, so its really not THAT far off, however hte new lightnings are set to have the smae 5.4 liter motor, no supercharger, but put out 5oohp and 5oo ft lbs of tq, they will also come with the t56 6spd manual transmission, and 6piston front brembo brakes, and 4piston in the rear, which i thought is just badass for a truck

The last news I heard was the Lightening was indeed keeping the supercharger, that it had a new patented "goody" that is pretty much ingenious. But maybe you have more recent news than I do :)

I'm doing this by memory, but here it goes, it would have a separate reservoir for coolant aside from the radiator and overfill container. this fluid would be cooled by the intercooler and while driving the operator would be notified by a light in the dash when the injection was ready.

I think it was from a push of a button, if not the mash of the throttle (button would make more sense to me) and it would inject this super cold coolant into the motor giving it an extra boost of power from the sudden temp drop.

I can hunt for the link to this article, this was a few months ago I read this. I nearly shiat myself when I read it too.

So in a sense it's Ford's version of a shot of nos.

Not totally, but similiar idea.

Hmm wonder if u could design something like that for our 240's ;)

well somewhat in a way, but much more conventional :)

I'm scouring the other forums I frequent, no luck yet. It was an official article with shots of the new truck and stuff. Not just something that a person typed in a message

ford lightning is going to keep the supercharger nd no its no oing to be 500hp. they arent coming out until early next year and are still in the works. the 500hp thing is just a rumor for now and will only be released if dodge releasesthe srt10 am trck with the vipers v10 engine. the new lightning will share its motor with the redesigned 2005 mustang and will have standard 390 or 400 horsepower supercharged engine. yes thats the same one off th 2003 cobras which in 2005 will be in mustang gts. the reason they are not offering more power is because the mustangs major cmpetitiors-trans am and camaro have been discontinued and therefore the only competition remaining in the american market will be the corvette which costs aproximately 15000$ extra and only has 15 extra horsepower in the op of the line zo6 models. also the lightning wont get much more power because it is at the top of the sport tuck market only to be threatened by an srt10 which is still only a concept and will cost much more if turned into production. also chevy i releasing a silverado ss which will have 355 horsepower so ford is unworried.

actually the corvette c6 will more than likely make its debut in o4 as an o5 model, or o5 as an o6 model?, i forget which, nonetheless, its going to have a 6.3 liter (the 5.7 got bored and stroked) v8 (pushrod, 2valves per cyl) producing a baseline of 4oohp, and the zo6 model is supposed to get an 'upgraded' 45ohp which is supposed to bump it up closer to the vipers status, which as im sure you all know has an 8.3 liter v1o, 5oohp, 5ooft lbs of tq and costs 8ok (as the hard top is not yet released)

A buddy of mine in the AF has a newer F-250 with the Cummins Turbo diesel. He's got the boost up to like 30 psi and has a propane kit on it. That thing has something like 900 ftlbs of torque(maybe more but I'd hate to exaggerate) He uses the power mostly for towing his big *** trailer with 2 or 3 jeeps set up for rock climbing, but every now and then he cranks up the boost and propane and it's like the best sleeper ever. I've seen him blow away Mustangs and z28's like they were standing still. It's great. I keep telling him he needs to tub out the rear end and put some big *** tires back there but he dosen't see the need. Go figure.

Yeah turbo diesel trucks are beasts for torque. I remember they built one up on that Trucks show, I think it was a ram, and it would do burnouts with the best of them :)

V12 Detroit Diesel Twin Turbo w/ a 15spd transmission. In a Long nose Peterbuilt.

It outran his 93' Lightning on the freeway(I had that lightning floored).... Not bad for a 63 year old behind the wheel.
