Ford was running a recruitment program at my school(U of Michigan) and they kindly brought their GT with them and opened it up for display. Here are pics for your pleasure...

Car

Engine(check out the size of that SC

Suspension (If you look closely its an Eibach spring)

Front Wheel/brake (those rims are BBS i believe...)

Rear brake

Rear wheel (sooo...... WIDE)

Inside (I couldn't get a clear shot because the window was up but here it is...)

Sweet. To bad they didn't open up the inside and let you sit in it. Interior looks oddly refined for a Ford, but I guess it is the GT, they go cheap there, they'll never hear the end of it.

I saw one that was in the parking lot of a local car show. After I parked my car, I went back to look at it some more, but it was gone...

It was probably a conversion.. but it looked really good.

Sex on wheels.

And that SC isn't significantly larger than the one on my 99 Saleen. Big would be an old GM 6-71.

I was expecting a probe to, because everyone says S13s look like probes. I like the GT alot. They had one very similar to that at the tire rack about a month ago.

meh.. that is lame

no way in hell I would buy that crap. there are 3 fords I would buy, magusta, pantera, and original gt40... everything else is crap.

Ford makes GREAT cars, then ruins them in later incarnations, its just so sad. mustang, thunderbird, taurus sho, and so many more.

Im not an ignorant domestic hater, just ford is constantly messing stuff up.

Rofl PanterRacer, I'd have to say you're the lucky bastard. You have EVOs of every generation, Silvias, I assume you've had the WRXs for a while too.

...but at the end of the day its a FORDI'd never spend 150+gs on a FORD. However if it was an ORGIANLA GT40, thats a diffrent story. I think the GT40 looks better then the GT.

I'd lay down the extra $50k for the Ferrari 360 CS, or buy a car in another class. Ford looks like they tried hard, and did well, but there is no beauty in those welds. No glory in that motor. I don't care how fast it is: it just dosen't inspire me.

Wow, you guys are lucky that Ford recruits from your school like that. I tried to apply to Ford for an internship, but I guess they get most of their candidates from U of Michigan (I am from U of Texas at Dallas).

You should lose your hot weather and come up to MI and experience a new weather type :-D Yea since GM plants are near by where the university is, they like to hire engineers from UofM and UofM has a nice engineering program...

They are buidling a new Toyota plant here near by UofM so hopefully by the time I graduate... it will be finished and theyll have a job opening reserved for me

You are right... There is a person (it's a she BTW) that drives it to plaecs like recruitment programs or other shows but it's not her car. It has a manufacturer plate on it. There was a dent on the car as well... not big very subtle but if you looked closely you could see it.

I didn't get a chance to talk to HER but I saw her... in her mid 30s or so..

Personally, I love the car. It is very close to a GT40 as far as looks go, they just made the car a little larger and more comfortable. I really don't think that anyone should knoch the GT b/c if Mr. Shelby approves of it, it must be a great car. I think it is great that Ford finally built something like this. By the way, that's an Eaton M112 blower......and why is there no glory in that engine (it's not a motor, motors are electric) Hell, it makes 500HP from a 5.4 and I'm quite sure that the boost is only around 8 PSI, which is nothing. Basically the Cobra R engine that makes 380HP N/A with a blower. I LOVE Ferrari.....have always wanted one, but, since this car will be so rare and is so gorgeous, I'd probably have to buy it.

I think that's kind of the point. When I look at the Ford GT, I could see myself driving it day in and day out. I see it as a super car that you want to drive all the time. If I could afford it, I would be driving it right now.
