the C4 is also benefical not jsut if you cant shift fast. everytime you take your foot off the gas to **** you loose boost. with the c4 you never take your foot off the gas so you never have to build boost back up

I would think it would be cost & practicality.

Dog boxes aren't made for street and don't last more than around 10k miles. Not very streetable even if you could afford replacing it every few months. I remember reading about them and how they have very harsh engagements and loud transmission whines (you can hear the whine in rally cars over the super loud unresonated exhausts).

i havent really researched them that much yet, i didnt know they only lasted that long

i dont care about the whine, i think it sounds bad ***, and i know people that drive them on the street

but yeah i guess cost and reliability would make this the better choice, unfortuneatly you probably cant use it for road racing

That's sort of what I wanted to use it for... as a poor man's sequential gear box persay . Might not be the ideal choice, but should be a fun experiment - trying to figure out if the extra OD gears will make it even that much closer to a sequential... my lil auto transmission is giving me hell right now - trying to figure out if it's mechancial or electrical... meanwhile saving up to buy the c4.

The car we are putting the C4 in is nothing special... It really has no power mods as of yet... We are working on a turbo manifold for it though...

We might try the C4 out in my car eventually though.... Just to make sure it can handle the power

Well, it took a little while, but we finally got our C4 adaptors from the machine shop.... These are CNC machined from 6061 T-6 aluminum for strength and light weight... I bolted one up to our test C4 today and it fit like a champ... We worked in some design changes over our old setup and it turned out really slick... Let me know what you think...

We are still waiting on the Xmember peices to come in and we should have a package price together at that time.....

Can't wait. So far I got HG, v2 cams, pistons, and bearings. Why not throw a transmission on my bill as well.

Transmission Crossmember!

We got some pieces in for the transmission crossmember and welded one up today to make sure that every thing works right. Just want to let you all know that we are still working on this as much as possible!
