You're right. Just like swapping other motors in our cars is harmful too.redtop91 wrote:I don't see what the fuss is. N/A w/ 3 inch exhaust is pointless. Sometimes even harmful. Do not do.
I've never seen a dyno graph on a NA KA showing that a 3" exhaust is big enough to decrease the velocity of exhaust gas to the point where scavenging is effected and power is lost.redtop91 wrote:If an exhausts diameter is too large for the pulses the motor is putting out it will increase escape volume but dramatically decrease velocity. It is not too hard to grasp.
Edit: Maybe for some it is

Most of us go with 3 inch because we plan on going turbo later

Glad we got that straightened out.redtop91 wrote:I definitely misspoke. 3 inch won't do any damage. I'm thinking of another thread where a guy was talking about a 4 inch exhaust.
LOL maybe just a little.JustinStrife wrote:I think I know a little bit of what I'm talking about.

What... WWHHAAATTTT!!!!AmoebAssassin wrote:Oh my god, are we still arguing about this?
Please, please, please, do not give in to random internet speculation! Go with what works, and 3" definitely works on a KA.
