i think ive read some stuff about this before, but heres the situation.

i installed the Fidanza flywheel on my KA, went very well.

then, putting the pressure plate on, the three pins on the flywheel didnt match up where they should. the bolt holes lined up fine, so i just rotated the pressure plate 1/6th around, so the pins arent used at all.

is this fine for operation? or like...what should i do.

IIRC they only line up one way so rotate them until it fits but I would def not run it without them

how would it only fit on one way if the flywheel/pressure plate are both like....a pie chart cut into replicated thirds?

i guess ill unbolt'er and see if i can get them to fit. somehow.

The pressure plate alignment holes are drilled in a way that they only line up in one way.If you don't use the alignment dowels, you may bolt the pressure plate slightly crooked and it may cause a vibration.

The pressure plate only fits one way. Keep rotating it until you find the correct alignment.

interesting.

say....the flywheels got 6 holes for the pins. would either of the two triangles available still make it possible for the correct alignment?

well wish me luck, i suppose. the flywheel looks exactly like 3 perfect thirds put together.

i have a feeling i wont be able to find it.

RESOLVED:

all three pins/holes on pressure plate look the same. EXCEPT, there is one of the holes/pins that is SLIGHTLY closer to the outside edge of the pressure plate/flywheel.

after noticing this, it was cake, everythings put back on correctly, and im good to go.

ALSO: note for Fidanza users. there ARE two triangle configurations you could use when inserting the alignment pins.

-two of the six holes available for the alignment pins that are "next" to eachother, are the ones that are SLIGHTLY closer to the outside edge of the flywheel.

in case anyone searches with this problem.
