So it looks like the drought is over for us here in in Philly, the Flyerss just beat out the Canadiens for the Eastern Conference Championship... Now it's hella noisy in my hood, sucks living 4 blocks from Cottman and Frankford. If you don't know what that means look it up.

This is going to be a hell of a fight, both of these teams haven't been to the Cup in a long while and neither has one the cup in a VERY VERY long time... Flyers last one the cup in 1976 and Chi-town last won the cup in 1961. This is going to be an awesome match-up.

Wasn't the Flyers last cup in '75? I'm not a Flyers fan, I just feel that's what I read earlier today somewhere. It certainly should be a good match up and enjoyable series. I'm completely biased, but I think the Hawks are deeper. Though Philly does have a solid defense so we'll have to see how it all plays out.

Well, I really want attend one of the games, but it's not looking good. I don't know that my wallet can easily absorb the $500+ ticket price I'm currently seeing. Not to mention finding friends who would also be willing to pay that to go to a game.

Looks like tickets in philly are much cheaper. At least from what I've seen briefly on ebay/stubhub or whatever.

We have a rough crowd here in Philly, so if you do come to see one of the games here just be aware that you will be sitting in a sea of Orange and Black.

Yeah cuz a parade makes a whole bunch of sense Seriously, the city is so broke that they are talking about cancelling the next 2 police academy sessions, laying off a large number of city workers (to include Police, Fire, Prisons, and Streets) Closing up a pretty substantial number of Public Libraries and Rec Centers (so the kids have nothing to do all summer except cause mayhem) and a whole bunch of other stuff.... But we can find $2M to through a parade, F you Nutter. I really hate this city.

Oh and for the record I only want to see the Flyers win to see the chaos that ensues afterwards, otherwise I'm rooting for the Blackhawks because to be honest Flyers fans are a rowdy bunch of slack-jawed psychopaths...and their uniforms suck, Orange and Black, thanks but I'll pass on pretending I'm a Jack-O-Lantern. Blackhwks have some of the best uniforms in the NHL.

Yes, because a parade is basically large scale marketing for one of the cities main sources of income.
Increase peoples knowledge & interests in in their own national champions -> increase ticket sales -> increase state revenue.

They money the sports team bring into the city likely more then pays for this parade... b**** all you want but if it wasn't for the team you would have even less money.
