Greetings from a fellow Iowan. On my active Q, I just used cheap tank valves. They're like tire air stems but all metal and have 1/4" NPT threads on the end. I drilled the end of the accumulators and tapped them with the right tap. I cleaned them out thoroughly before putting the valve in with some lock-tite. If you do a search in the archives, you should find a more detailed explanation.

Recharging is not a DIY undertaking.

Yes, and there are 9 of them.

Don't use your car until you replace them or you will bend suspension components and do further damage to the active suspension.

The operating pressures in the active suspension system are very high, and when driving on flat accumulators go well over 5000 psi over bumps.

Normal operating pressures exceed 2000 psi. 'Cheap' tank valves have low pressure, low cost valve cores which may fail explosively ( becoming a bullet) when the charging hose is removed. This is why I use only certified aircraft quality valves, purchased from aircraft parts supplier. I have good assurance they are not counterfeit parts from who knows where, made to who knows what specification with no Q/A.
