I cleaned my steering wheel with Woolite and hot water, but a bunch of stuff flaked off around the top of the wheel. Some of it was already flaking off so I guess it was just a matter of time.

Is getting the steering wheel re-wrapped a good option?

Thats pretty chipped and worn. I bought a new wheel for my qx4 offline and reused my airbag but I got a great deal on a wood grain one.

They sell pretty clean looking and tight fitting wheel covers aswell as an easy alternative, I rocked a black smooth rubber one for a while and it fit tight and felt good and looked good how simple it was, they probly sell tan ones for your interior color

I have used the spray refinancing products with good initial results -- but it eventually needs to be redone. If just the finish is going I would go that route first ...........you need to sand off the flaking finish and then topcoat. The end results are like any paint job -- it is all in the preparation. I did it on a couple of the company cars S wheels in a similar color

Wheelskins are a quality product and have been around for years -- They originally came out to cover the thin plastic wheels that most cars came with years ago. I'm not sure I would want to install in on top of an already thick wheel.

Both of my 02's have the black interior and the wheels have held up well.
