Hey

I have a couple of quick questions about bumpers etc. I have sourced G50 aero for a good price, but before I buy it I need to know if it will fit. I have a later model, 1994 model, and I believe the aero is for early shape. Is it just the front bumper that doesn't fit, and is it possible to make it fit well or not.

ThanksBrendon

The whole front end is entirely different.Early bumper won't match the later headlights, hood, or fenders. The seam between the fenders and bumper is completely different so the parts aren't interchangeable. You'd have to swap everything out to get one piece to work.

Here are two shots to show the differences:

See how the later bumper/fender seam is straight, but the early one is not? The later headlights also wrap around the sides, while the early ones don't. And the later grille/hood covers the entire vertical space between the headlights while the early one only covers the top half, and that space isn't the same shape anyway.Earlier Qs also didn't have fog lights (although your aero might). You'd have to change out everything to get one part to work.Even if it's just a lip or something, the lower bumper is nowhere near the same.

Thanks for the reply mate. I thought it was something like that but I haven't had a chance to look side by side like that. Do sideskirts and rear bumper fit regardless?

Rear bumpers are different, but are probably interchangeable. I do know that when I ran 90-93 tail lights on my 95 for a couple weeks there was a gap (maybe half an inch) between the bottoms of the tail lights and the top of the bumper.

The sideskirts are the same, though.

Be careful as many of even the name kits require drilling into the rocker panels to mount accessory sills. A good way to defeat laser zinc anti corrosion.

Q45 was already pretty slippery at .29 Cd. OEM rear spoiler helps reduce drag and lift.

Agreed.. You'd have to spend a lot of money to make it more aerodynamic, otherwise its purely cosmetic.

My car isn't a race car. I don't need to make it more aerodynamic. It is for cosmetic reasons.

Sorry mate, not sure on the brand, found it on Yahoo and didn't bother to translate.

Sorry mate, I am on really bad internet and don't have the patience to wait for that to load. It is a "snow plow" type one like the people on this forum like to call it.

I'm pretty sure I know the exact one you are referring to and I would stay away from that kit. Cheap material and poor manufacturing techniques plague the aftermarket parts market.
