Its depoends on your budget:

If you are a sinlge man working fulltime in a job with some substance go with teh G35X, it is a full class or 2 above the Legacy.

BUT if you are in college or just out of hischool go with the more economical alternative which will also be a decent car.

MOTOP - I'd offer $33K OTD, but keep in mind you're asking them to then sell the car for roughly $30K (or a bit less) as tax, title, fees and insurance will be approx $3100.

Email "dfw infiniti" - He is one of our sponsors and is the GM of the largest Infiniti dealership in the US. He'll shoot you straight (and may even make you a better offer).

Thanks guys. Immense help.

Palmer, to answer your question:

<---- 26 y/o, about to get engaged (done saving up for the ring, that sucked). Stable job with about 60k/year and joys of living in San Francisco ($1000 rent per person). Taking all that under consideration I'm thinking that G35 will be quite feasable. However I never had any debt in my life and would hate to get into one.

The reason I'm so hesitant is because I might go back to school in a year or so. Even though I'll be still working, I wouldn't be getting as much.

Plus Legacy in GT trim is a great car. Screams to be boosted, but this is a feeling I'm used to after owning KA powered 240 :)

I will keep you updated.

I think I know what choice I would make. Fred brings up a very valid point. Most people dont look to the future to see where they will be and what they will need out of a car. Most people live in the here and now.

Motop an additonal consideration you might want to lok into:

I get a "new car discount" from my insurer and its huge.I mean huge.

Enough to make the monthly expenses betweena slightly used car of a given model and a brand new one, a wash.

Guys thanks again.

Two things came up this morning that solved my dilema.

1. My GF's mom is leaving for 2 months and is giving me her Volvo station wagon. If I don't have to worry about the car for now that means that by March I will probably have around 20k in cash which puts me in a better position as far as buying a new car vs. buying used.

2. This morning my GF drove home in brand spanking new Volvo XC90, which satisfies the need for 4wd skiing car.

Now I have to convince her that coupe is as practical as sedan :)
