My first experience was without an lsd in a 92 hatch 5spd. I hit a curb and wobbled my car home. because I needed to get it fixed and the lower control arm was jacked I drove it in the rain, road was wet and alignment was horrible. I worked at a dealership in Atl at the time. Luckily the parts only cost me about 50 bucks. The install was free, but I had to purchase two new front tires because the ones I had on the car overheated and the tread belts were separating. Overall that experience cost me about 250+dollars, but I only practice during local events and I still dont do that much.

Now I have a daily and a track car... it works out better that way,

.....lay of the kid, he hasn't grow past Fast and the Furious yet. He may still think that you can downshift into 4th gear while redlining in 6th and it will give you a jolt of acceleration, but I hope not!

my first was on the street. sorry guys but they just don't have any events around here. well in NC they do but not where i live. anyway on to the details. i found an unihabited road about a mile from my house. it's only around 1/4 of a mile and it has 1 gentle curve that leads into a very sharp curve in the same direction. at the end there is a cultesac so it's easy to turn around and try it the other way. haha, there are so many black skids on the road it's hard to believe someone hasn't ventured down there and called the cops. well, i guess i'll just have to keep looking over my shoulder. ps - are there any other drifters in SC? hit me up. peace

its hurts to see that, that video is still alive. i saw that happen in person while talking to the event cordinator. it sucks big time when that happens.

my first drifting experiance was in my dads ford explorollerover, never rolled it and got used to how to controll delicate weight ballence. From there a year later after blowing crashing in grip race and then blowing a motor in a s13, i got a s14 and first track drift experiance 80mph entry wide left hander OMG that is what i live for, that and doing irwindale events with the d1 course.

my first "Drifting" experience was last night. I took the car down the road to a friends farm and just took it around the dirt dead end turn around thing at the end of their lane (private property, know the people, not "street" drifting) just mashed the gas in 2nd, and tried to control it. ultimaltely it went well!

Clutch going in soon. Stories to ensue.probbably just going to do donuts though. we don't have a track and I really don't trust trees, or my lack of exp. with RWD.

FWD in dirt/etc. is predictable but no indicator of what RWD will do. or how the turbo will kick in....or how much times I will apply the wrong amount of throttle.....hoo boy.
