Just from my experience be careful when lowering the engine/transmission into the engine bay. I broke one of my powersteering hardlines on the back of my rack. Its a pain trying to find a replacement. I had to make a new one.

Well I would debate that because IMO it is much easier to lower the engine and transmission together into the engine bay. While if you were to lift it into the engine bay you would have to mount the engine and transmission separate from eachother. That transmission is heavy when you are under a car with only two people. Well from my experiences and reading others it just seems like the better thing to do. Oh and btw make sure you get the heater hoses in the back swapped to work because they are a b**** to work with when the engine is in.

well some people dont have a lift at their access, and without a lift, just throw out the idea of dropping hte motor and transmission out from the bottom, dont even try to do that on hydaulic jacks or any crap like thta, chances are u wont come out alive

very true. the best combo i've seen this work on though for us DIYers is to take a furniture dolly and drop the engine onto it. these dollies are left with open centers, so the oil pan won't get crushed. take the engine lift and hoist the nose up into the air and then slide the engine up under. drop the nose back down to the ground and reconnect the lift back to the engine and pull it up into the bay. not the most practical way, but you risk damaging less wires and hoses this way i feel
