I dont understand why he was banned either. I do understand that he might have seemed insensitive about the matter but he had a great point. In countries like Japan and England that **** never happens and crime rates are low, however in America we see this happen all the ****ing time and no one does anything about it. kudos to him for advancing his views in a time when everyone was confused.

However, since you've already "gone there", let me explain (which I shouldn't have to do): We had members who were terribly impacted by the events in VT.

His statements were, of course, his opinion. However, they were inappropriate at the time and place, and he was asked to "cool it" - didn't happen. He threw a tantrum, and suffered the consequence.

I'm sorry you don't agree with the assessment and action, but then again, you're more than welcome to start a forum and implement your rules - you'll soon realize it's difficult to please "all of the people, all of the time".

By the way, "sanctimonious BS"? Whatever, dude. Must be nice to never have anything hit close to home.

There's a reason the rules are in place, and they're there to prevent exactly what just happened here: people crapping all over this thread.

I echo your sentiment of him not being banned. Although the VT situation was tragic, I saw nothing that Kevin said that directly insulted the victims. It's fine to encourage political neutrality on the forum, but banning a person for one thread is a little over-the-top. Please take note that I DONT agree with Kevin's political views regarding gun control, but I do respect the fact that he is a valuable member of this forum. Moderators, i appreciate your concern of keeping the integrity of this website, but banning someone who does so much for the Y33 community and the Q45 in general was a little premature, and hope that this decision was done in error.I love this forum and can not imagine it continuing without Kevin's involvement.

Kevin has not expressed an interest in returning, so I believe this may be a moot issue.

Again, please be advised that there is much more to the decision made than everyone here is aware of.
