Really? I thought the R1s had stiffer springs.

Nah, I'm pretty sure the springs on all the models are the same. The shocks are a lot harshier but the springs are soft. So the shocks are stiffer than on my 240 but the springs are softer, it's really weird. The R1 has the stiffest shocks but I don't think it changed the springs. I'm probably wrong though.

There really isn't much difference between an s5 fc and an fd engine. Now a cosmo 13bre is another deal.

Do you mean a Cosmo 20B? Also, the difference between stock FD's and the R1 deal is stiffer suspension, bigger sway bars, strut bars, better braking system, and no leather! But, then again, suede was an option too Seriously though, I'd stick with your 13B- parts and repairs for 20B, although, they do use many of the similar parts, are REALLY expensive. You can't just swap out scratched rotors from a 20B and a 13B . Anyways- feel free to drop me a line if you want my humble opinion about anything rotary-related.. I took the time to read the entire factory service manual a few years ago.. a mere 500+ pages.. ALSO: If you ever plan on going with a Hose Techniques kit or swapping to silicone hoses... #1 DONT DO IT UNLESS IT'S A NECESSITY #2 If you're going to do it, prepare to spend a lot of time removing and replacing the almost youre entire engine bay haha (intake, intercooler piping, alternator, ACV, throttle body, blah blah blah)Congrats- and enjoy your new 8000RPM beast

lol, I know what you mean about the hoses. I felt around mine and they seemed ok. So I'm hoping they'll last as long as my engine so I can just put in silcone ones in with the next engine. I looked at a diagram for the hoses and solenoids, oh man I almost **** myself. it's like some retard got bored with string and ran it all along the engine bay.

Yep.. It's ridiculous.. It's a million times easier to screw with when your engine is out of the car. I ended up stripping my entire engine bay and getting the whole car repainted One hell of a project, but I never got to finish it... My plan is to get my 240 up to around a $16,000 car and then go for a nice FD purchase A while back there was a '94 FD with 148 miles, original dealer sticker and everything for about $45k.

Nope, I mean the twin turbo 13bre 2 rotor cosmo engine. Not the twin turbo 20b 3 rotor engine.

I think I'll just stick with a normal 13b TT. I'm happy with it, it's the most powerful car I've driven (shows how few cars I've driven). So I'm not out trying to beat my friends 9 second mustang that I always hear about because some reason, everybody I talk to about cars in the south has a friend with a 9 second mustang or camaro. Anyways, I'm more about suspension but before that reliability. So radiator > cosmo engines.

A 148mile FD? Damn, and I thought mine had low miles at 39000. Though that's three times what I paid for mine. And I also have the original dealer sticker =) List price was like $32000 with the ever amazing 17mpg. I would've had about $16k in my 240 when I would've been done but plans never really follow through. So instead of $16k into my 240 I put $15k into an rx-7.

Well I'm in the works of getting a BRM exhaust from greg for the car. It'll be from the turbos back and have a high flow cat with dual tips. I loved his exhaust on my 240 and he did me alot of favors when a shop ****ed me over on the install. So I know he's pretty much the best guy around for customer service and making sure you ge your exhaust up and running perfectly. Still no lap dance though =(

Well if you got that thing in perfect running condition with 39k for $15,000, that's one hell of a deal! Good idea on keeping the factory stuff in there. Obviously, its the most reliable way to do things. Just get yourself all sorts of cooling, the suspension straight out of the factory is ridiculously nice- but if you're going for serious suspension, which I'm assuming you are, I'd go with the TEIN coilovers. I'm a real big fan of Racing Beat, and I had Tokico Illumina shocks with Racing Beat springs. But the best thing they have to offer is their RB Dual Tip cat-back exhaust. Stainless steel beauties, they're well worth the $500... I bought their "suspension package" which included springs, and the front/rear sway bars- a great price too. As for intake, the M2 Carbon Fiber intake was by far the most attractive and appealing to me, but I never bought it, almost $500! I had a Koyo radiator, but Fluidyne is just a little bit better/more expensive.
