Hey guys, and girl. I'm almost done my CA and I have a few small bits to square out before I drop it in my car. I need to purchase a clutch and a manifold and then it's all done besides the wiring job on the motor. Here's what I have so far. The longblock is assembled now. I just have to attach the manifolds and flywheel. All the OEM stuff is brand new.

ARP Head studsARP Flywheel boltsOEM RingsOEM Main and rod bearingsOEM Pan, Intake, Exhaust, frt and rear mains, and rear cover gaskets.OEM TensionerPolished crank and camsPower Enterprise Timing belt*planned* ebay exhaust maniS13 SR OEM rebuilt T25N62 MAFSolid Aluminum motor mounts/NISMO transmission mount.SS Clutch lineB&M Short Shifter

Here's where I need help....

I have an auto ECU. From all inidications, it appears that I can use this although my car is a manual. Correct me if I am wrong.

I have checked the FSM and it appears that the power steering pump is attached via some sort of stand-off system with spacers to the block. Is this true? If it is true, could you be so kind as to provide me the lengths so I can mill something on the lathe to use. Or if you have an entra set with bolts that would be hawt. I'm racking my brains out here.

Alternator bracket.... does someone have a spare. I originally planned to weld a piece of flat stock I have to an SR one to create a hybrid, but I am wanting a stock piece so I don't have to crew with it.

Please let me know. Thank you guys.

36 views and 24 hours posted and no one wants to throw me a bone. My main concern is for my powersteering pump. Please someone chime in here and help me out. I would greatly appreciate it.

Man I would help you out but I have no power steering at the moment. I can check on the bolt lengths when I am home this weekend if you would like.

The auto ECU is fine. You won't have a speed limiter.

There isn't any sort of spacer, just a plain ole cast iron bracket.

Can't help on the alternator bracket.

Well I purchased the pump and bracket from Sean so I'd hope he wouldn't sell me a rubbish bracket. The issue is that it hits the front cover and doesnt' sit flush on the block. It's hitting the little metal L shaped bracket next to the idler and it also contacts the dipstick tube as that sits right behind that same L bracket. That small L bracket is the odd one that is attached to the front of the motor with an allen head at the top of it. When I checked my FSM the bracket looks like it's the proper one so I son't know why, but there is no way around it without mounting a stand-off type of system. I'll scavange to find Sean's old for sale post from about three months ago and post the picture of the pump from there in about two or three hours.

I appreciate the help guys.

So here's what I'm talking about.

First one is the PS pump Sean sold me.

Second is the "stand off's" I was talking about that appear in the FSM.

Third is the spot on the block where it hits.

Fourth is the pump assembly. The FSM and the pump I have are identical.

Your help is greatly appreciated again. Thank you gents.

I can't think of any spacers that went with it, but I'll check the garage take a picture of whats not fitting where. maybe it will make more sense?

Thanks Sean! I'll shoot you an email from my work email address. Essentially the bracket does not fit flush to the block. The front part of the bracket hits the dipstick tube and the metal L bracket in the middle FSM picture outlined in red.

I don't have a motor to look at, so i'm not sure about the L bracket, but the dipstick tube does rotate and move around. Its pressed into the oil pump. Maybe it can be angled differently? I dunno. Let me look through pictures to see. Its gotta be a CA bracket, the KA bracket is very different looking. Its like half as much metal. Its in the pictures too.

Even with the dipstick tube removed it still hits the front piece.

Take a look there. In that swap post the bracket has plenty of room to clear the stick and the L piece behind the idler. Looking at the motor you can see the peice of the L bracket where a bolt screws in between the L bracket next to the idler and the powersteering pump bracket.

i'm still confused. with the dip stick tube removed from the oil pump it hits what? the pump? isn't the bracket well above the oil pump? haha, i'm trying to picture how it all fits in my head, and its not working. :P

circle what hits:

the p/s pump should physically be higher than the oil pump:

I think I know what the issue is. First picture time. The Blue circle is where it's hitting. Right where that bolt attaches, and the dipstick tube runs directly behind it. The green arrows denote where I'm trying to attach it, right at the stock location.

Unfortunetly the pump I got from you has a flat back..... So it's got to be maybe FWD pump.

Can anyone measure the height of the back of that bracket, from the block to the thick part of the actual bracket, so I can machine some standoffs? I have to have it as exact as possible so I don't have belt slippage issues.

OR does anyone have an extra bracket they want to let go for very cheap?

I had two brackets, they're both in that picture of mine. I'll send you the other one to try out I thought it was all rwd CA stuff, I don't know how I'd get a fwd bracket. And I think the fwd pump attaches where the alternator goes on a rwd motor. But anything's possible I suppose...

Before you send it let me get pics up of the bracket I have. I'll get them up, should be before 5pm. The motor is at a friends shop where I do all my work. He's going to do pics and email them to me.

Throw up some pics if you don't mind. I can't get by the shop where the motor is and my buddy who owns is isn't doing me any favors getting a picture of it.
