I just recently bought a 1992 5 spd hatchback 240, and I got a deal for it, only $1950 and its very clean for having 155k miles. It needs just about everything but the body is very clean, and the interior is decent, everything is mechanically sound. The basic idea is to get the car SR swapped within 3 months while everything else is being done. Im ordering wheels/tires/coilovers within the next 2 weeks. Getting the coilovers installed by a local suspension specialist.

Heres the basic list:Wheels/tires/suspensionTein Super Streets SR20det swap-Z32 MAF-Z32 Fuel Filter-CXRacing Aluminum Radiator-CXRacing Aluminum Shroud-CXRacing twin 12"electric fans-Ebay Stainless 3" downpipe-Ilovetacotaco FMIC + Piping-Greddy Type-RS BOV-Buddy club Spec II exhaustOrigin SpoilerJDM Rainguards Half and Half tail lightsFront lipNew paintPull and roll the fenders

As far as interior:New Shift bootS14 SE seats front and rearUncracked DashOEM Shift knobAlpine Head UnitAlpine 4x6 150w 2 waysJDM Cupholders

Basically a street car, my daily driver that I want to take to autox events and drift days at my local track. Its gotta be pretty reliable and low maintenance once swapped, im not looking for massive boost and ridiculous horsepower, just a little upgrade from the KA.

Nice screen name. LOL

You don't need a Z32 MAFS until you put in bigger injectors and need to re-map the ECU -- just go with the stock SR for now. Why a Z32 fuel filter?

Do you not have a driveway, some wrenches and a floor jack/jackstands? If you have those things don't pay a shop to put on your coilovers -- they'll take you about 30 minutes to put on (for all 4) and then about another 2 hours to do ride-height adjustment. Save yourself some cash (unless the suspension guy is doin' it for free).

Also suggest putting in a new fuel pump (Walbro 255).

Get your electric fans out of a Gen 1 Altima rather than buying aftermarket.

Thanks, and the suspension guy is charging $100 per coilover, you honestly think i could do it myself? My good buddy just got Coilovers for his graduation present and his uncle is installing them and he knows what hes doing so I might have him do it just to be safe and it'll be free.

All the things I listed were recomended by a local guy whos done a few SR swaps so I just used that as a basic list to get an price estimate for the whole swap... Right now around $2900 with S13 blacktop including shipping. If I save enough money Ill get some more legit things rather than ebay s***...

Where can I find altima fans?

Started removing rear pieces from the interior and started to pull up the sound deadener.. Everyone complains about it being a pain in the a** but in my case its coming up pretty easy, just using a hammer and a chisel. Im using orange spray cleaner to get up the leftover tar and a brillo pad/steel wool. Im planning on doing a the entire car, just have to find replacement carpet soon.

look around for some welding gas supply companys in your area. If that wont work try some compressed air cans used for cleaning computers and turn the can upside down, it might be cold enough to harden the stuff making it easy to chip and break away.

If you stripped your interior your self i think you can install a set of coil overs. There is a ton of how-to's on coilover installs on nico.. A easy search and you will be golden!

As far as I know there is no place that sells true OEM-fit carpet for the 240. You could try the expensive route and go through Courtesy Nissan, or you could go with one of the companies that sell "fitted" carpets. Google will find you results, or look for Loki's writeup on how to install carpet.

Be advised, though, that even though the place says that the carpet has been pressure-molded to fit your car, it's not to OEM spec, and it's never a perfect fit. You'll need lots of time, patience, and elbow grease to make it really look good.

^ and I'm one of them, but what some people need to know is that it's important HOW you ask and how you present yourself. If you come in all c***-and-balls as a n00b, strutting your e-peen but asking really elementary questions, you are gonna get hassled. Not because we don't like n00bs, but because we don't like arrogant, lazy a**-holes who bite the hand that feeds them.

You weren't one of those people, so you got respect.

And regarding your unanswered question about the Alty fans, best bet is local pick-n-pull. You'll need to trim the fan bracket and do some mild wiring, adding in either a toggle or a temperature sensor. But you'll save a hundred bucks or more if you go this route and circulate as much or more air than an aftermarket setup.

The KA was running really rough so I took it to our local Nissan specialist and it has a whole mess of problems, but I have to do it... I got quoted $1100 by our family mechanic, and $770 at the nissan specialists. I went ahead and let him do what he felt was needed, i get the car back tomorrow. All hoses were dry rotted, belts have cracks, no reservoir tank, new plugs, wires, caps, water pump, new ac charge, ps leaks, new ps fluid, new fuel filter, oil change/oil filter, the struts and springs are toast he said... So coilovers will be ordered tomorrow, getting strut bars with the order if Megan has em in stock. The build is definately gonna take a little longer due to this bump in the road, Im going to hold off on the swap for a little longer than I initially planned.

Jesus, man. I don't know about your home situation (ie. if you have a garage, tools, etc), but for what you paid that guy you could have done it all yourself PLUS bought a nice tool set , jack, jackstands and a creeper.

Getting your toe wet in terms of automotive stuff can be intimidating for the uninitiated, but you'll be grateful if you learn to do it yourself. So pick small stuff, do your homework, and start learning your car. It's rewarding, trust me!

The problem is my parents are just skeptical on me working on my engine, they honestly dont care about the rest of the s***, like ive stripped the interior down to almost nothing. Im installing the coilovers myself. Its not a problem of me being able to do it myself but they are just skeptical, they are paying for most of it. I bought everything to this point with my own cash, Ive got $2250 in the bank right now going towards the car.

I work at Outback steakhouse and I make decent money so updates will be coming soon, it will be lowered soon. Its gonna look funny for a few weeks on steelies with hubcaps, but slammed lol

UPDATEI got S14 SE seats, front and rear clean as hell for only $150, the back seats are modded to fit S13... The speakers are gonna be installed when the Alpine Head Unit comes in the mail... Z32 Front brakes on their way, Tein Super Street Coilovers will be here Tuesday. Still saving for brake pads/rotors, since I need 26mm up front, i gotta get the back ones too. The hatch area will be undercoated and and cleaned thoroughly and the seats will be in shortly. Still trying to figure out if I wanna buy the carpet setup, my carpet isnt too bad, and I have Nismo S15 floormats. Im still trying to locate a Chuki lip on craigslist, as you can see I also copped a set of Teardrops, they have brand new tires on em, got em for $240 from my buddy. Sorry pics are bad, my screen broke on my camera so i cant see what im taking lol. A lot of half shots and stuff.
