Bingo, that's another reason I went 360 over PS3...because most of the people I intended to play online with had or were planning to purchase 360s instead of PS3s.

thats what alot of my friends did. i got a ps3 instead, which instigated two of my friends, who hadnt gone either way just yet, to get a ps3. even converted 2 other friend after their 360s took a crapped on them. then i found the nico psn id list, and batta bing! more people than i even have time to play games with, lol. i love that gaming has become a very social thing now, lol, though i've learned while getting trashed with some friends that GT is not a real to life simulation of how you'll do at drunk driving still makes a fun party game tho

GT a party game? You must have some lame parties. Rock Band + Modelo = Epic Win

I wish the rock band drums were quieter so I could enjoy them at night.

Sock draped over the Pads FTW. Makes your drumming more accurate too. As gay as this sounds, "all the pros do it."

I was shocked and awed....I truly hate MS. However, Squenex has a few cards up their sleeves. They will announce something that will be "big news" at their party in a few weeks...

I'm thinking that a FF7 remake on the PS3 would qualify.

lol.. well, this was before GHII was even out, i hadnt even bought guitar hero 1 yet. the party went lame when everyone joined the sewing circle and shared gossip for a good 2 hours. I myself, being a non-conformist and not caring about gossip, decided this was lame so i went to the living room and booted up the ol' ps2, threw GT4 in, and decided to see if i could do a gran prix while hammered. turns out that alcohol has no effect on your video game driving skills. prolly woulda been more interesting if i had a wheel tho... end lame party explanation.

the parties are epic now, GH3 in one room, rockband with a full set on the projection screen in the living room. a liquor cabinet full of booze and 30 drunk people attempting to be rockstars for a night epic win

Not sure why you would hate MS over this? Its not like its a 360 exclusive now. And its not like the FF series has ever been exclusive to any console manufacturer.

Frankly, if you're gonna be mad at anyone over this, be mad at Sony. Square Enix was quite public about their displeasure with the price of the PS3 early on (and the corresponding sales). Given the money that they are likely putting into this game they need a big installed base to recoupe the investment and make a nice profit. I'd speculate that this might have brought them to the negotiating table with MS...or at least been a factor. Especially when you consider MS's installed base and the very relevant attach rates.

Well you don't start off by pricing your damn console at $600. Friggin Sony. Only the people that were really looking for a blu-ray player would have bought your console (IMO).

Problem for Sony was they put themself in a very compromising situation. I'm thinking that subsidizing more the cost of a PS3 from the start could have really gained it momentum in both the gaming and BD areas. The problem they might face with that is other CE manufacturers that agreed to manufactur BD players would be in more of a bind than they already were with BD player pricing (Lowest BD player prices were equivalent to the lowest PS3 price making the consumer's decision almost a no brainer). Add to it that they had stiff competition and it only gets worse. If HD-DVD and BD were on equal playing fields, HD-DVD likely would still be around or perhaps have won the war as Sony would have to undermine the other CEs to try and boost PS3 sales. Sony probably made the right decision in the end to invest attention in BD over PS3 (BD likely has a bigger profit potential long term), but they certainly didn't give the PS3 a running start...

I laugh every time I see someone post comments like this. It's like it's some mystical unicorn that will never be, but they're determined to hope anyway.

1: What's wrong with the original FF7? Why does it need to be remade at all?2: Of course it'll be remade. I'm not even an FF person and I can tell you that. Look at what Square is doing. They're going through the series one-by-one and remaking them. 7 will be reached eventually.

I think the M$ is the worst thing to happen to video games...ever. The XBOX360 "system" is nothing but a gaming PC that has an external PS. Developers have to make the games work without a HD because M$ is only concerned about cost and it's extra $$ for that item. Sony actually loses money with each PS3 because the HW technology is cutting edge. The worst is having a system use the same disk drive technology as the last generation; this is not a step forward for the industry.

I don't blame the developers...they are in the business to make money. It's easy to program for the XBOX, and M$ surely gives them a premium...most likely a bonus if a title is exclusive.

Call me a fanboy if you like, I just think that M$ makes a sub-rate video game system. At least the Wii brought something new to the table with its new controller...

LOL...blame it on Square's "tech demo". I tried to play FF7 a year ago and couldn't get past the graphics. Granted I've played the game for about 3 playthroughs...each time playing long enough to beat all weapons.

I guess its my Eleanor
