For the cars I drive now, I'm a HUGE fan of Michelin Ps2's. Run them on a 500rwhp C5. Sure traction sucks under 60, but handling is absolutely great for a street tire when doing canyon carving. Also get around 20k miles out of the rears if I don't do burnouts. Expensive tires, but well worth it for an all around street performance tire.
Street tires, yes. Racing tires, not so much. You can get A6s/V710s in just about any size.

You aren't the only person to request this.

Not everybody is going to have a dedicated track car. Or dedicated wheels and tires. Also, some of us have to actually drive some distance to find a track(Southern Cali sucks!) so we need street tires to get there.

Meh, the 240 has done this many times.

Besides, the big sedans may be able to carry lots of spare racing tires... but what the hell is the point, at the end of the day your still in a big sedan.

Meh. The 240 hatchback can fit a lot of tires/wheels inside, but fitting a set of four mounted wheels/tires in my coupe is a huge PITA. I wish I had a hatch almost all the time. Sure the rear seats fold down.. tiny pass-thru though

If folks can fit a whole set of race tires strapped onto a Miata, nobody can complain about not having space. They're just not trying hard enough.

Yeah, if I can get 4 17" wheels with tires mounted on them AND a new set of tires for said 17" wheels in the s13 (hatch ftw!) it shouldn't be hard to get just the wheels in another car.

I, along with Ian have worked in the tire industry since 2002. I hold very strong opinions about tires, some are unfounded, but I will not sway.

Michelin: They make a great, long lasting tire. But, and this is a big but:(teehee) The rubber compound promotes corrosion on aluminum wheels. Work in the industry long enough and you'll die from that nasty dust.

Continental, Goodyear: I would not take these for free, litterally, they are absolute garbage. I have seen alot of seperated tires in my life 95% of them were goodyear. The other 5, Continental.

Yokohama: Also cause corrosion, but to a lesser extent. I want AVS Intermediates to come back, they are my favorite tire of all time.

Falken: Cool looking pattern, decent grip, cheap cheap cheap. I think I would try the Nitto Nt-05 this year instead.

BFG: I had KDW's on my WRX, good grip, good wet traction, but they were loud and they cupped themselves to hell.

Snows: Bridgestone Blizzaks FTW, I have also enjoyed the Yokohama Iceguards as well as Nokian Hot Q's. For the money spent Blizzaks are teh bees knees.

Dirt: Michelins, they are relatively cheap, easy to find, durable.

I've fit a 40" TV in it's box in the rear hatch of my C5. But there's no way in hell I can fit 2x 18" front wheels/tires, and 2x 19" rear wheels and tires in the car(I don't have much choice my Z06 brakes require 18's upfront). No way, no how. And I'm not willing to install a trailer hitch to the car and tow a small trailer with tires in the back. I know it's been done, but I'm not doing it.

Fortunately PS2's and Nitto NT05's are a decent tire for both street and race. They aren't Hoosiers, but it is what it is.

I ran some 512s on my Sentra for a couple of years. Great handling for an all-season, but I got just 20k-ish out of them, and that seems to be fairly normal for real-world use, but their rating would indicate a bit more mileage. They also got very slippery when they were worn down. Definitely still had some tread, but it didn't mean much when it rained.

I replaced them with some Kumho Ecsta ASX's. I only had them for 6k miles or so, but they were VERY good. They seemed to be wearing better than the Falkens did and were almost as much of a pleasure in terms of handling.

I now have BFG G-Force Sports on my MCS. Good tire if you don't need all-season capability... of course, it snowed twice this year in Georgia when I decided to just go ahead and get a summer tire...

Anyway, they take a little while to warm up and seem to break loose under acceleration sooner than I'd expect, but they're fantastic in the corners. Both of those aspects extend to the rain - great in turns, but I have to be a little careful with the throttle or the ACS kicks in (if it's on) and ruins the fun. They're incredibly predictable, which is nice.
