Yes they are. their new CD sounds great, and i too hate them becoming mainstream. but a reason for hope:

Thrice. They just signed with Island, came out with a new CD, and its better than their old stuff, same sound, everything's the same, and theres no gay "punk" kids running around saying that they're their favorite band. Hopefully, Thursday will avoid this. I think it's really hard for people to like Geoff's voice right away.

And Geto Boys Own.

Yeah many people have told me that "His voice is too high" or "What's up with his voice?"

Yeah, but I think his voice is one of the best in the biz.

And I don't think we'll have to worry about Thursday material will go downhill. They are some of the nicest and most humble guys, so the success and "I already did something good, so I don't have to try on my new stuff" mentality that many bands get, will not apply to the lads.

Hopefully:)

I'm hopefully going to see The Juliana Theory tomorrow actually. I'll be there in a blue Nismo T-Shirt. My friends are all going out to see Bane tonight, but, alas, I am working :(

I'm not usually into the music scene too much but if there is a band that I like I will definatly go see them. You going to the 106.5 Weenie Roast?

YOU NAZI! (j/k...) Illusion of Safety is far superior to Artist in the Ambulance. The new one is very good though. Bet you can't guess how much their signing bonus was for going with Island Def Jam...

Thursday is great live, I had the opportunity to see them almost 3 years ago (I think), when their first album came out and they were doing basement shows in New Brunswick. I still don't comprehend how huge they've got...at least their music isn't suffering because of it. It's just a damn shame they are on Victory.

My favorite band (for the moment) is Appleseed Cast, favorite song being "Fight Song". Their new album is awesome.

Walken is creepy funny, I'm anxious to see how he does in the rundown, probably gonna be a dumb but amusing movie, with the cast, I don't see how it wouldn't be

The new CD from A Perfect Circle is out on Tuesday (9/16). While I prefer Tool to A Perfect Circle, "Mer De Noms" was a hell of a good CD.

Right now I'm listening to the soundtrack to "Underworld"...lots of Maynard content, a David Bowie track, Skinny Puppy, Milla, etc. Pretty cool so far, and it was on sale! :D

I'm not kidding. A woman that can appreciate Maynard like that, ESPECIALLY if she's a Tool fan aswell, can be my Magdalena. ;)

I wonder if she knows what my location is referring to... *hope*

awesome. actually i started out listening to tool when i was in highschool, perfect circle is great, i like the inclusion of violins, etc, but it's still got some harder tracks. (depressing music is allright with me! :D) and i'm awaiting the new release.

i just recently picked up the deftones white pony album. i can't believe i never listened to them before till now. ( i heard change-in the house of flies on someone's mix cd so i just had to get the album) 'Knife Prty' is my fav so far. any reviews about the minerva cd? because i liked the single off of there. i'll definitely buy it some time.

;) Sev, i've noticed

I *really* like the incidental music from "Underworld". The tracks by Renholder on the soundtrack CD are the actual film score. I'd buy a whole CD of that stuff.

BTW, Renholder backwards is Re D Lohner. Danny Lohner of A Perfect Circle and NIN fame. I just figured this out today. I'm a bit slow.

mojo, i didn't know that!it all fascinated me when i saw the 3 libras video *way* back when and i was confused, cause i thought it was some band that was copying off of tool/some singer faking maynard's voice. didn't actually know it was maynard, since tool's video's were never showed the band. ..and i was thinking WTF? i'm not all 'in the know' about music stuff anymore. (hence my just picking up the white pony album) :D

note: the underworld cd sounds like it's worth listening to.

Rap is what I listen to mostly. Slim Shady, Dr Dre, Tupac, Snoop, 50 cent, Nelly, DMX, and a bunch more that I can't think of right now. I like hip hop, most of the little hot *** chicks sing pretty good. I would rather watch the video.

I also do a little bass. I like some of the older country and rock. Alabama, Steppin Wolf, CCR. A lot of the Rockabilly, Buddy Holly and that type. Again, I like to watch modern country instead of listen to it. The chicks are usually really hot.

Hell I even listen to a little classical, like Bach. Of course that is also mixed in with my bass music. Fuge in D minor.

Some of the modern rock/alternative is good.

P.S. I also listen to Rob Zombie. Forgot about him. His stuff is pretty cool. Havent seen his movie yet.

I find Word of Mouf by Ludacris to be a very enjoyable cd through and through.

License to Ill is probably one of my favorite rap albums ever though.

Don't think we have much love for the Dropkick Murphys or some of the other irish punk or rock bands though:(
