Ruroni Kenshin, Macross/Robotech, Eva.

I used to watch DB/DBZ/DBGT every day, but after a while it gets old.

Blood the last vampire is pretty good. It takes place at Yokota A.B Japan where I was stationed a couple years. Ghost in the shell and Appleseed are a couple of my favs.

i think naruto is one of the better animes out there. the character developement is certainly the best. other than that, cowboy bebop is the only one ive really liked. and its the only one i can show my friends without being embarassed :D .

Most of the anime i'd recommend is already posted. Try these and see if you like them.

Hunter X Hunter Story line is similiar to Naruto minus the ninja and becoming hokage.

Slam DunkBasketball. You get to follow a newbie who becomes a starter for his high school team.

Hajime No IppoBoxing. Highly addicitive.

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu Nothing like the first season. More comedy then robots.

Condor HeroTakes place in ancient China. Based off Jin Yong's stories.

Azumanga DaiohComedy.

Peace Maker Kurogane Samurai. Starts off slow but gets dark later on.

Scrapped Princess Similiar to The Matrix.

All of these are unlicensed except Hajime No Ippo and Azumanga Daioh. I'm guessing its not out for sale in the U.S. yet.

The Manga was so much better than the 2 part OVA. They totally screwed it up and it is too short.

Oh I know some1 was gonna say something bout that. Its just that I did my US history report on "The Growth Of Anime in The US" I already knew that any form of animation, is considered anime, but what I learned was that many dont consider it Japanese anime since it has an American story line. If any more elaboration is needed, Ill do it later. I gots ta leave for shool now.

But it was a Japanese series man. It even kept going with the headmaster saga which takes place after the episodes we got. It's a story about giant robots I can't really say you can get more Japanese than that. :D

Cool paper topic. Wish my US history teacher would have allowed something like that.

i've seen so much over the last 7 years i cant begin to list it. ive been going to A-kon since akon 8 and this year is like akon 14 or so. i dunno. seen a lot of good stuff, seen a lot of ****. and i cant stand when US TV gets ahold of a show because it goes to the pooper. cept for cartoon network, they tend to not bastardize them too much, only expose them to the nerdy outcasts who dont really have anything going for them cept for protesting society by listening to Linkin Park and Korn and wearing shirts with clever sayings from Hot Topic or those dumb screen print button up shirts. enough ranting. all you anime fans need to show up to Akon this year!!! BISHES!! we can represent NICO in the parking lot.

btw, i'll probably be at otakon again this year. I've been going to anime cons since katsucon was still known by its number, not year (my first was katsu 5). I stopped watching anime at these things because I've usually already seen it when it was still fansubbed, or I just finished watching it on Cartoon Network. Cons have become such tools of the dubbing companies today.

Hot Topic = Prepackaged Nonconformity

Man I have been trying to make it to A-Kon for the past 3 years and something always messes me up, usually friends who bail. If I can get out there I am down for an A-Kon Nico meet.

On another note we sold out our local con a couple weeks ago. 750 people and we had to turn so many away. Now I know you people are like 750 thats not much but let me say when I first started going to this con 3 years ago we had maybe 200 people.

Oh yeah, I downloaded the entire Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. Shiro was a advisor, and his essence is still there. Man, it is one of the best shows ever.

I know, I know. Its just that with all the anime timelines and write ups Ive gone through, those robots in disguise were hardly on there. This is mainly due to the fact that everything except the art workwas mostly done by the Americans. This I, and Im quite sure many others did not know. IMO Transformers will always be considered a Japanese cartoon since the Americans were'nt even capable enough to come up with art work that was worth viewing. It just that Ive seen many that dont look at it that way. Oh well!

Oh yea I really got away with that report. All the students were very pissed at the fact that they did more complicated reports about events in American History.

hmmmmmmmmm... anime.. i love it. i have too many to list and/or remember, but here are a FEW that i REALLY enjoyed watching:

Hajime no IppoSamurai X ova's- Trust, Betrayal, Reflections (greatly disliked the series)Full Metal Panic!Full Metal Panic? FumoffuNausicaa Valley of the WindInitial D ( all stages except battle )Hunter x HunterNaruto ( though the anime series is getting pretty stupid.. manga is still awesome)Gungrave ( the first 20 or so episodes.. then it kinda died)Gundam WingGundam SEED ( ending seemed a little rushed )Full Metal AlchemistOne PiecePeacemaker KuroganeVampire Hunter D ( both of them )

and more.....

i have a huge anime collection, but those are just some i like.. i could name a lot that i dont.. i just have them for some reason lol

edit: btw, i didnt think AKIRA was all that great either. there are some great oldschool anime i just cant think of the names right now. but i remember watching them when i was younger.

and i only watched subbed or raw.... dubbed just doesnt feel right, so i refuse to watch if it is dubbed :D

Speaking of Astro Boy, What do you think of the new show? Also, what do you think of Cyborg 009 and Android Kikader. Im kinda feeling these remakes of older anime cartoons. I also think the new Ninja Turtles sahow isnt too bad(although it really isnt Japanese anime).
