last night after a friend and i finished installing my front lip spoiler we took it out (about 3 a.m.) and i got it all the way up to the speed limiter for the first time. it was very fun. not to mention i forgot to put my window up and i was getting some crazy wing action going in that car.

Well, that didn't take long to beat. Driving/riding fast is great. It's the crashing and death that sucks. And going to jail.

went 109 (speed limiter) in the deville , still felt like it had alot left , was trying to get around another car on a 2 lane road , as i went to pass him he nailed it to hang me in the opposite lane , fortunelty for me he had a 97 chevy truck , his limiter kicked in at 98 mph

went 140 in the G (a guess as the speedo stops at 130 )

the scaryiest was in a 1995 VR6 GTI , 110 but it felt like it was going to leave the road at any second that was the last of my intentional high speed escepades as it was a few weeks before the crash

I hit 120 in the Q, passing people the other day. I let off, before it shifted in to high gear. Don't want to do much more, considering the age, and I need new rotors. There is a LOT more there.

Been 192.8 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, in a 1988 Monte Carlo(not exactly stock).

A deer at 80mph doesnt to so good either. I guess im lucky in a way. I had just started slowing down from a top speed run in the 240SX (123mph LOVE the no limiter on autos!).........you all know the rest of the story

160 on my bike, which is just crazy. it doesnt seem like its that fast tho for some reason. only hit 115 in the 240 b/c some bastard changed lanes in front of me. oh well, no need to go that fast anyways.

how fast? i don't know. it was fast enough to pin me to the backseat.

i was like 6 or 7 years old when i went for a ride with my cousin. i don't remember what kind of car it was, but i do remember not being able to move. he had his windows rolled down. so on top of being paralized, i was being pelted with whatever was being sucked into the car. it felt like a gazilion tiny ants were stinging me, but it was probably just dust or dirt. he and his buddy were laughing hysterically in the front seat. i'm not sure if they were laughing at me or at the thrill of going fast enough to be thrown back into time (at least, that's how fast my little 6-7 year old mind thought we were going). i think i was trying to cry, but the tears seemed to be stuck on my eyeballs.

needless to say, they got a good *** whoopin from my mom when i told her what happened.

I just hit 110 in a 95 GTI VR6 this week, and it felt pretty solid to me.

The fastest I've ever been is 125. I get too nervous going very fast because with my luck, I know CHP or a Sherrif's deputy will be right around the corner.

That's why I like tight curvy roads. You get as much, if not more excitement at lower speeds. Unfortunately, at least around here, there's even more risk of hitting a deer, and even though the risk is lower, those Sherrif's deputys have a way of being in the wrong place at the wrong time (they would probably see that the other way around though).

Jeez.. you people... I've had my license for 4 weeks as of tomorrow, I'm still too freaked to speed much. I go with the flow of traffic pretty much, though I get tailgated a lot.

You guys that just started driving, you need to learn how to drive before you start speeding. :D

To be honest, you just shouldn't speed at all. Like the Char-Mech police moto, "When you speed a little, you could lose alot." LOL

PS Been 120, and 130 in a police cruiser. The last time the car started making this loud a$$ noise at like 110. Friggin Fords.

145 (indicated) in my '92 Corrado VR6150-ish in my old Galant VR4155-ish (indicated) in my old 3000GT VR416X on a GSXR750 that was built up pretty nicely

Scariest: 85-90 mph in the '56 Jaguar XK140. The guys who used to race those things at 140+ in Lemans must have used up most of the trunk space in that car to carry their nads with them.

Quella's seen 135 recently, and her prior owner states she was run up to a radar-indicated 164 at Phoenix International Raceway (on track day) in 1998.

My advice, to the newley licensed. Join SCCA, take any old POS car to a meet, and drive the tires off of it. Small cars are the best. I took my 1984 Mazda pickup to my first timed event. I ran 4 laps, and finished 4th, behind a Mustang, RX7, and a Honda Civic. I beat a lot of cars, that should have eaten my lunch. I don't ever remember leaving 1st gear.

Until you know exactly what your car acts like, right before it gets out of control, you don't need to be driving at the limit of your tire's adhesion.

Nothing beats runnin something you built on a track, against the other guy, who built what he is runnin.

ive been 300+mph before. You never said jets didnt count ;)

as far as in a car, i took my 240 past the speedo range and never hit a rev limiter ( ), so how ever fast that was it the fastest i have ever i ever driven. On time when i went to cali, my dad took me and two cousins up to about 140 in a turbo thunderbird or something like that.
