Q45tech, You have 45 pictures of my q45 here http://stuwww.hsu.edu/s/se108368/web/q45.zip

If you send someone to come get it, you can have it for $500. If not, I'll bite the bullet and pay the $40 to put it on ebay.

Azhitman, the other thing I wanted to get was thishttp://stuwww.hsu.edu/s/se108368/web/accord.jpg

Its really horrible and nasty. Nothing comparable to a nissan, but I can get it for 7.5 k and put the horrible wheels, and ugly a** tint for another $800.

besides the fact that they tweaked that ugly looking FRONT WHEEL drive thing to produce power, it only produces 285 hp at the wheel compared to the 305 of a Q.

Azhitman, The dealership callled me back and confirmed that it was an aftermarket remanufactured engine. Losers.

I know bullsh!t when I hear it... :D Hope you gave 'em an earful.

Friggin' breaks my heart to see your Q sitting idle... Such a beauty, in good shape, and the Shamu interior kicks a$$!

Truth be told, you'd probably get more for it overall as a parts car, but that's a lot of work and hassle. A sad dilemma indeed. I feel your pain.

p.s. The Accord ain't bad... I'd be concerned that with the mods, it's been abused. Better to buy the "little-old-lady" special.

1) What!, The shipping was less BUT they wouldn't crate or pick up the engine!Doing it the cheaper shipping way was creating both cost+hassle for me.. Me crating the engine and craning it (500lbs) on a friends pick-up, whom I would have to give <something> surely is worth approx $100 all together!I was offering it to you at the price, I originally only would have accepted by someone who was actually willing to pick it up <and> pull the engine himself!!!!!Instead, I had it pulled and gave the guy a real $350 off (!!!!) my transmission price for doing so, and still offered the engine to you for little more than the price of a guide job!!!

AND I offered a full money back guarantee (in return for returned engine, if the engine was not as described)!!

I was basically trying to offer you a great engine at a (too cheap)price because I felt SORRY for your predicament!

When we discussed shipping modalitites and alternatives on that one Saturday or Sunday we left with the <specific> understanding, you would call me the VERY NEXT DAY with the info on shipping arrangements and you NEVER called! You had both my work and home email and both phone #'s.

My work email was offline (which in all fairness you didnt know) and you <did> email me with some info on shipping, which i didnt see until much later , at which time, I took it you backed out for some reason, when I saw your "Q for sale" ad in BST.

But on a non reply to an email to work (which was not our agreed contact modality anyway) you should have followed up with a call.I WAITED for a call ALL week!

You have <got> to be kidding me with what you wrote here!

Welcome to the club Fred, see why I said T3 would never ship another engine again we would rather let them rot than go thru the hassles.

Same with paying $1.00 per mile [round trip] to send a flat bed to pickup junk cars.

Fred - everytime i think about the skin peeling off the tips of my freezing fingers while I was rebuilding my engine - I'm kicking myself for not finding out about NICO sooner and buying your engine. I think you listed it the same day I started!

BTW - Every time I see Strong Bad dancing I hear "lets get crazy go nutzzz" in my head.

Longrun...

I just looked at the pics. Other than a few dings that's a nice looking car... what happend, guide failure? I think you could make some cash parting it out on eBay, but that's time consuming and messy.

I say you rent a one way U-Haul and tow it to Atlanta... Get your $1K, then come to Columbia and pick up Q1 for about $4K and take a nice road trip back to AK!

Longrun,This communication is for membership[ as a whole as much as you:

I just read some more of your comments in this thread that I missed before, and I can see you are very confused, but thats still no excuse to write what you did and you obviously haven't been paying a lot of attention to anyone.

Good luck finding a decent engine for even twice the price, which still would need the R&R that this one doesn't, which you <could> have gotten for much less, than the1700-1800 I was originally going to charge people if I have to crate +pull it for themvs the 1300 if someone pulls+pick-up himself.

I asked $1400 for the engine plus $100-150 (chump change considering the hassle+supplies+money I would give to owner of p/u) or so to cover my crating + transportation expenses, this was needed as we couldnt find a shipper wo would p/u and crate as I originally hoped for and assumed would cost about $400 for total shipping.

Since we found a shipper for a lot less, the crating and transportation would still have to be covered and it wasn't gonna come out of my pocket when I was undercharging you to begin with.

UNBELIEVABLE!

Fred,I dont think you should be angry. As I said, I would probably do the same thing if I was the seller.

What happened:We had a nice conversation on the phone. We agreed to $1400 on the engine,we also agreed that I would find the cost of shipping with forward air.You said that you would be willing to have it taken to forward air in louisville at your own expense.I said DEAL

Next thing that happened was:I put the money together, not even having the $800 the tech would charge for 20 hours to fix it.I called you and told you what shipping would costWe agreed I would pay you $100 to crate it since forward air does not crate. You asked for $50 extra for taking it to forward air even though you had said that you would be willing to take it up there for no charge. your excuse being that you would not have sold me the engine that cheap had you known that shipping would be so inexpensive, even though you knew that I did not even have all the money to get the engine fixed and every dollar counted.

Next day:I emailed you and said that I would only be willing to go through with the deal if you did not charge me the $50 extra for carrying the engine to forward-air, but that I would still pay you $100 to crate it, AND I even mentioned that I was looking at other avenues.I waited a couple of days with no reply.I decided that you were not going to do it.three days after that, you said that you would let me get by with only $30 for transportation, which was not in our original agreement.

You were supposed to CALL me remember?I waited for a WEEK for that call that never came.

I even had a day off in that week it would have been <perfect>.

Its just all pretty sad, there is a Q you clearly loved and wanted to keep for a long time (hence the screename) and now its sitting there with no engine..

I am no longer angry, I just feel for you, you just made a mistake in badmouthing me in <my> house (NICO).This was borne out of frustration and misunderstanding and I dont want to make your situation more awkward when you come here, so I forgive you for those posts.

Fred..:peace:

I can see a REAL easy solution to this.

Chalk it up to a miscommunication (which it VERY clearly is) and complete the deal - It's a win-win for both of you.

We've established that you'd both do it the same if you had it to do over again. Let's just get a Q back on the road!

Hell, half the time I don't even understand what Fred's saying (j/k buddy) and we talk all the time.

Plus, I don't think Fred needs anyone's $50 THAT badly... If he did, I'd have a 20mm rear sway bar by now (hint hint :D).

forecast and I will spend some quality time with the Q next week and the sway bar and many other parts are finally coming off.

Fred...:)

AzHitman, you are such a cool guy.

Fred, I am happy that you are not mad. IT would not have mattered much since I will probably be a honda guy in august and not visit here much, but on principle, I hate burning bridges.

We agreed that I would either Call or Email you. I specifically did not call you because I did not want the added pressure of having to tell you that I would only take the engine if you did not charge me $50 for shipping.

Boy did it get warm in here!

Come on fellas, $50 to keep my Q running, I would'nt have hesitated on that deal if that's all it cost me to alter it.

longrun, thanks for the kind words.

I'd leave that Honduh right where it is and buy one that has not been modded.

Again, find the "little old lady" Accord if you MUST have one.

In his listing, this guy states that he has a Q transmission for sale too. Maybe tc02 can get that for his 1995 ...

The engines between 90-93 aren't compatible with 94-95. The CAS connections are different.
