just curious is the car smooth? I was looking at the stock CA ignition table and compared them it seems your table is retarded across the board anywhere from 20-30* degrees.

we'll look into it more. see what can do for ya.

post up the msq incase anyone wants to take a crack at it too.

The car would idle better than 11:1 a/f. Whats your timing at idle. You sync the mechincal timing with MS?

There is no way the stock map retards the timing that much. Crusing timing should be from 20-40 advance.

no, it does not run smoothly. it drives well enough to make it to the grocery store and to friends houses, but i wouldnt trust it more than a few miles in its current state of tune. when i check timing at idle it sits almost dead on 15 degrees BTDC. still idles kinda rough though. im not going to sit here and tell you it doesnt suck, because it does. i havnt really gone through all the maps yet, and tuning the thing is a little rough becausw my laptop doesnt have a battery... anyway, thanks guys, i really appreciate it.

Make sure you are getting a clean signal from your crank sensor.

Post a screen shot of your timing map and fuel

I'm not refering to MS is retarding the timing that much. I mean comparing the timing maps from a stock ecu to what he has the map was off by 20-30degrees compared to stock.

Here are pics of some of his settings.

He's running 550cc injectors and a GT28R.

His VE table

You know what I find funny how our spark maps are ridiculously the same.

Anyways when I was checking the maps out I clicked Tools>VE Specific>Generate Table and punched in the CA's hp and torque numbers and rpms and got this spark map.

Pretty Crazy map their LOL.

Anyways here's a Stock CA map for comparison.

yeah, i basically just copied and pasted your spark table. figured if it worked for you, why bother with it? ve table is what msII generated for me, big wow there. anyway, i thought i didnt have to mess with the trigger offset because it said i didnt have to on the ms.info site.

the MS site it varies, because for 4 cylinders, 6 cylinders, and 8 cylinders you place the sensor on different teeth. I remember it saying for 4 cylinders its suppose to be 10degrees.

What is that last map load value? It is running ~37 in boost, that is not correct.

AND I QUOTE:

Settings/MegaTune

In MegaTune, set:

Trigger offset = 0° (this will vary, depending on the wheel/pickup configuration), Ignition Input Capture to 'Falling Edge', ('Rising Edge' for MicroSquirt), Cranking Trigger to 'Calculated', Coil Charging Scheme to 'EDIS', Spark Output to 'Going High (Inverted)', ('Going High (Inverted)' for MicroSquirt). Set the predictor algorithm option to 'last interval'.

DO NOT set the missing tooth settings - the EDIS module takes care of the 36-1 wheel - MegaSquirt-II sees it as a regular distributor.

direct from the megasquirt.info site.
