they don't ask when you purchase via the phone (don't ask, don't tell policy...) BUT when you take it in for services, you will most likely find that if a modded component failed, it's on your dime. If you have modded the suspension and the Nav unit craps out, you are OK -- if it's wheel bearings or a failed strut, get out the wallet. That's what I've been led to believe.

Just purchased Elite Extended Warranty today from Courtney at Infiniti of Scottsdale. She was very knowledgable and helpful.

Also confirmed previous pricing with Circle Infiniti in NJ. First quote was for the G35.

All in all, purchased the 60 mo/70K warranty for around $2000. Keep in mind that you can save a little more if you buy with a CC.

Thanks all for feedback!

I think its definatly worth it. I too was skeptical at first but now im glad I did it. Just took my car in a week and a half ago because I was losing oil somewhere. Turns out my 2006 m35x with 69000 miles had a leaking "rear main seal" Dealer said it would have been a $900 dollar job. I walked out not paying a penny thanks to infiniti elite. The best part is they gave me a loaner car to drive for the full week and a half, no questions asked. I would definatly recommend it.

The Infiniti Factory Elite Protection Plan DOES cover the Navi, Audio, Bluetooth, and any/all upgraded technology. Infiniti's are not known to have a lot of problems, they are extremely reliable vehicles...but it is an expensive car with a ton of computer modules, so any one repair can add up quickly (labor alone is over $100 per hour). A lot of the computer systems cannot be repaired, they have to be replaced...so it's not a bad idea to have it all covered by the factory.

If you have any questions regarding the coverage, shoot me an email...

I have only had 1 problem fixed under warranty so far, I cant remember what it was exactly. But it would have cost me $500 or so to get fixed which is 25% of the cost of the extended warranty with just 1 small repair. If anything major happens I am glad I wont have to fork over thousands of dollars.

I just wanted to thank all of you for the positive feedback!! I've been with Infiniti for almost 6 years now and it was just Nov 2008 that I discovered this forum. Since then I have helped over a 100 nico members with extending their factory warranties. I've been keeping busy while car sales are slow with all the emails from nico/6mt/G35driver/ forum members...so THANK YOU!! I would be really really bored without all of your emails and questions. Thanks and feel free to shoot me an email whenever you have a question, or need a quote.

You know your stuff!! That is correct. The Infiniti warranty will cover all original parts, but it will not cover a failed component if it is not original(doesn't cover aftermarket add ons). Your warranty will not void if you make changes or alter the vehicle unless the problem that occurs is directly because of the alteration you made.

Its been a while since I've been on the forum...lots of good threads!!

Hello,

I have a G35X and would like to purchase the Elite Wraparound for an extra 12 months and am shopping around. Would you mind telling me how much you paid for the Extended Warranty and how long you took it out for? Thanks for your help.

Sincerely

If I read some of the extended warranty language correctly, the purchased warranty time and mileage begin on the day and with the mileage you currently have when purchased. i.e. if you purchase 30K of additional mileage coverage and your car has 50,000 miles on it, you're covered until 80,000 and not 90,000 (60K actual factory warranty end+30K). Is this correct?

I am 98% sure that the warranty will go into effect once your manufacture warranty is up at 60,000 or 4 yrs whatever comes first..I am purchasing a Elite Wrap in the coming months and will ask the question and then post.

I purchased an elite wrap that is for 84 months/100k miles. I purchased it when the car had 51k miles and had been in service for 43 months. So the car had about 9k miles of original warranty and/or about 5 months of original warranty.

The elite wrap simply extends that to the 84 months/100k mile limit. Meaning my car had 39 months or about 49k miles of warranty left with the elite wrap.

I believe that's how it works on them all. Your official paperwork will show the old and new dates and mileage limits.

The way I understand it is that the Elite warranty starts the day you buy it, even though you are already covered through the original warranty. That seems goofy, but it is the way it is from my conversations with Courteney and Daniella(sp).

You can no longer get the 5 year/60,000 mile Elite once your vehicle reaches 40,000 miles.

So, it seems that absolute best time to buy the warranty is when your car has 39,999 miles on it. Buying the 5 year/60,000 at that time will cover you until 99,999 miles.

Courteney from Infiniti of Scottsdale and Daniella from Circle Infiniti in New Jersey seem to always have the best prices. I was quoted $2,105 from Courteney and $2,059 from Daniella for the 5/60 plan.

Bob is absolutely right. Elite extended warranty starts the day you buy it even if it overlaps with factory warranty. I agree with the idea of buying Elite warranty as late as possible to get most benefit. If you decide to sell the car or it gets totaled, you will lose the money you put in the extended warranty. You may get a better price since the warranty is transferable. There are a couple of advantages if you buy early. One, it is cheaper for same coverage. Second, it covers additional items other than factory defects. For example, if ever the CD changer gets stuck it will be fixed under Elite warranty if it is due to your fault (like peeled labels).

I'm pretty sure the Extended warranty goes into effect immediately. Like the above poster said, it extends you existing mileage not the 60k + extended warranty mileage. That's why it costs much less when you have less miles. I just purchased a 3yr/48k miles Elite wrap with a $50 deductible from Daniella at Circle Infiniti in NJ and because I have just a bit less than 40k miles I got a great price. My warranty will however cover me until about 88k miles or 3 years from today. Also, keep in mind that although my 4 yr in service date is coming up quick, the power train is still warranted until the 60k miles. that's what I was told anyway from the dealer last week. Something to consider if your on the fence about to throw down the cash on the extended. I've been in for service 4 times in the last 6 months (mostly minor stuff but a couple of big $ items), so I went for the extended warranty to have some piece of mind. Daniella did beat Courtney's price by quite a bit but Courtney did know her stuff and was pleasant to talk to. BTW, the 3/48 cost me $1239.00 which I thought was a great price. The new nav unit I just had put in last week would have been 2k + I'm sure.. Keith at Montclaire Infiniti in So. Cal has really taken care of me.

I am starting my research now for an extended warranty for my 2007 M45 Sport. I have reviewed all of the posts on NicoClub regarding extended warranties & I too agree the Infiniti Elite coverage would be best.

The question is where to buy it. I will check with my local dealer, Infiniti of Tyson's Corner tomorrow when I put the car in for service. & the others recommended as well.

However I found something else. Has anyone herd of these guys? Are they an Infinity dealer, or is this a factory site with offerings on services and parts? Or some college kids running a spoof site?

Please post.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, check with Courtney at Scottsdale Infiniti in Arizona ... people like their prices. They are also a NICO sponsor.

No idea about this one.

FWIW, I like the prices at http://www.everythinginfiniti.com (link is also in my sig) and they are a NICO sponsor, and they have supported our members well over the many years that we have been around.

Just bought a 2006 M35 with 84,000 miles from the dealer.
This car is loaded with almost all the available options and although it appears to be in pristine condition, I was considering a 1 year/100K Infiniti warranty for $1100. What do you all think? I worry that with all the tech that I will regret not paying the money even if it is for such a short duration.

I only drive about 12k/year.
I also think I got a good price at $19K for the car so I'm kind of prepared to pay out some repair expenses.

Service history shows mostly minor repairs but they did replace an AC compressor and the bluetooth module.

I think you payed too much for the car. I bought my 2006 M35 fully loaded with everything (bose package, DVD etc..) for 21,600 with only 40k miles. You shouldn't have paid more than 15k. I would get the warranty especially with the amount of miles on the car so far. I would push for atleast a 2 year warranty, depending on how long you want to keep the car for.

I looked at some other higher mileage 2006's and they were in the $16K range but they were a little rough. The one I bought is immaculate so I went ahead and paid more for it. It was priced right at the trade in price according to KBB and there were several other M35's with higher miles that were $2-$3K more so I'm wondering if they are just a bit more expensive in Chicago or something. I would have been thrilled to get a nice one for $15K but they are just not available within 250 miles of me.

I went ahead and got a 12K Elite warranty for $1000 just in case.

My Elite warranty paid for itself in the first couple months.

I had the laser cruise control go out, instantly with no warning, and was covered cost for sensor is $1600 or so. Cruise still does not work right after repair and four visits, they cant aim the laser right, but thats a different story, at least it turns on and I can use the normal cruise mode. The seat track started rocking and that would have cost anther $1000 or so. And got my Iphone and the bluetooth would not work properly so they replaced the bluetooth microphone...still cant hear people but they did attemp to fix which I appriceated.

My Elite plan was added to the factory warranty at purchase...cost was $1060...and runs from the end on factory warranty till 84mths/100kmi. The Elite wrap, I was told, covers the same as bumper to burmper factory warranty with 0 deductable as I wanted to make sure the premium features such as Nav, rear entertianment system, and power shade were covered.

This is a complex electronic car unlike a simple Toyota Camry or Tacoma. If I did not have the extended warranty I would be driving around rocking in my seat, pushing gas pedal on my own on the highway while holding phone to my ear...cause I am too cheap to spend two thousand bucks to fix minor things like these...lol.

My idea of extended warranty is to get rid of the car before warranty expires. I have not had a car outside of warranty since my 1993 Camry which I kept only 1 year outside base warranty, but was always in power train warranty. I had no idea Elite Warraty was so much!

I purchased the Infiniti Elite Protection plan. It's the only way to go. I purchased in March 2010 before my M went off the 4Yrs/60000 basic which I was told you must do. That's within 48 mos of the in-service date. Went with the $100 deductible. I figure the difference in the 0 vs 100 deductible was significant enough that if I had to to take it in for coverage work I would have to use it 5 times over the 48000/4 years extended protection plan I'd break even cost wise. I really doubt that I will be in for protection plan service 5 times within that period. I've owned the M since 3/09 (off lease) and the only thing warranty wise its been it for was the driver seat track and motor. That was done under the original 4 years basic with no questions ask. The tech looked at the seat and said the rail and motor had to be replaced. Good Deal!! I have my local Infiniti dealership do all service. I have 45000 on the clock and all necessary service is up-to-date.

My car, 2006 M35, has over 90k miles and the only option for a warranty is listed below from Courtney the dealer infiniti_lineup recommended.

$0 Ded
12mo/12k=$1360

$50 Ded
12/12=$1228

$100 Ded
12/12=$1120

Do you guys think it is worth it for only 12 months or 12k? Right now there is nothing wrong that i know of... :gotme

Thats really a tough call man. I would start by getting a print out of any and all services done to your car by an infiniti dealership. Any local dealership should be able to provide you with this, also Courtney can email this to you. These records will show you what kind of things have been replaced before and if regular services have been done within a reasonable time frame (if they went to an infiniti dealer) Its def. a great idea to get a warranty for the car, especially bc you are the 3rd owner of it, im just not sure about it at that price. If thats what Courtney quotes you, then thats pretty close to the best price youll find though. I know I got a 5 year elite warranty when i got my car for well under $2k but i only have 33k miles on my 06 M. Im sure you know how expensive these M's can be to service so its likely that if something goes wrong you will make your money back but you never know. It might be worth the peace of mind to just get it. im sure others with chime in with their advice. Good luck and welcome to the comMunity!

How does the deductible work? (should my question be a new thread or is it close enough?)

Is it a yearly deductible or is it more like a co-pay where you'll be charged the deductible for each warranty service?

If you need two things repaired during one service visit, will you be charged 2 deductibles? For example, if you need a water pump and an alternator. Or if you need a suspension component replaced but they should be done in pairs does it count as two services?

Has anyone experienced using this plan yet?

What about wear and tear items. Seem tires and brake pads would be exempted but what about struts, bushings, disc brake roters?

I'm leaning towards getting the extended plan but I just wanted to get answers to these types of questions first.

deductible is per visit not per issue. So if you bring your car in and get 5 things fixed you will pay one deductible.

I just got the Elite Proterction Plan from Courtney for my 2011 M37x. I think this is a great insurance policy based on the technology of the car that could go wrong. I paid $2,124 for 8 years/120,000 miles with the $100 deductable. That should take me through the whole time I plan to keep the car. Great peace of mind!

Sounds like the extended warranty is worth it, but what if you already have a Certified warranty. I just bought an '07 Sport with 42k miles, so it has the originial, and certified warranties. I guess the certified warranty has a $50 deductible. Should I still buy the extended warranty? Thanks

Extended warranties should only be based on two variables: How long you want to keep the car and How many problems have you had with the car. If you have had nothing wrong with the car during the original warranty then paying over 1K for a year is not worth it. But if your car has been having problems that have been exceeding 1K a year and you want to keep it then you should look into purchasing extended coverage. but on average the US keeps thier cars no longer than 5 years. I just helped my friend buy a Kia and the guy purchased the extended warranty but after a couple of years he wanted a new car so when I got the price down I also had him transfer the extended warranty for free. By the way he paid over 1.8K for it. In his case it was a waste of money. You need to look at your yearly mileage+current year of car+ average yearly mechanical expense+end of warranty = (yes or no) extended warranty. My gut feelings are always against extended warranties. But if you are the person who likes to keep your car for over 5 years then evaluate your options. Just to remind you we all own Nissans. And that it is always cheaper to get work done at the Nissan dealership that Infiniti. Even oil changes are 20 bucks less at the Nissan dealership and they use the same parts. I just recently called my local Nissan dealership if I had them do work on my car would it nulify the warranty and they said NO. So do your homework and shop around and make the wisest choice. It would be the best for you.
