I've seen you advocate both the GReddy and Tanabe. Which is better in your opinion? I read somewhere that the GReddy is lighter than stock, and I read Tanabe uses thinwall piping and hollow exhaust hangers.
No figures on either one as far as weight.
Also, the Tanabe appears to be an axle-back. This true? Thanks
As for quality wise, Tanabe hands down and for performance wise, GReddy is the way to go.
The part I love about the GReddy is you can adjust your exhaust to be street legal(under 93db) or for race track purposes(over 93 db) as well as adjust your low, mid, high range of power by just removing/adding the silencer. You also have the unique and JDM look as well.
You can expect both exhaust are at least 3-5lbs lighter than stock. I have measured the Tanabe and it weighs in about like 25lbs while the stock one weighs around 28lbs, this is just for the axle back.
Yes, Tanabe is only a axle back. There are reasons why its just a axle back though. First was to keep the sound under 93db for street legal and isn't ment to be for track use even though you can. Second was that the mid pipe was sufficient enough, so there was no need in upgrading it. Tanabe are one of the few who actually spend the time to do R&D before they release the exhaust.
