Anyone bother replacing these when you change turbo or manifold? If so, where'd you get them?Know the size?

Will they be the same for CA18? I imagine so.

Thanks

They're the same as a KA. I ordered a full new set for my rebuild. The studs, nuts, and washers are all the same.

I ordered them directly from Nissan.

As for the turbo studs, they'll be the same as a Z32 twin turbo.

are the nuts / washers standard pieces? I could understand getting the studs from nissan @ $5/ea. but what is special about the nuts / washers?

They don't rust easily. Also, the nuts are formed to lock in place so they don't back off as easily. If you look at it, it looks like 3 sides of the circle at the top of the nut have been dpushed in slightly to give the last thread of each nut some bite.

The washers are just very thick washers/spacers. You can pretty much use any washer you want, the Nissan ones are just prettier and less prone to bending/rusting.

I broke a bunch of studs while replacing my manifold, I just swiped the exhaust studs off an EJ22E that was laying in my garage, they were the exact same size. Go figure.

Nissan pretty much uses the same studs for all their manifolds. Cuts costs.

I broke 1, then striped the threads in the head ! I tapped the hole and just used a SAE size bolt ! The same happened in my KA head , It was always the last stud near the fire wall.
