Was thinking about adding a new exhaust system to my S13. 89 240SX with KA24E. Was looking at these new exhausts's they have on ebay. I've posted before about the OBX Header so I think I will buy that but was curious what is a good exhaust for under 500.00 bucks.

Has anyone used these ???

theres so many "n1 style" things on ebay theres no way to tell which ones are good or not. you're better off buying a muffler you like and having a local muffler shop install a custom pipe with it. that what i did. i bought a black n1 style muffler on ebay for like 30 bucks, paid 100 for a custom 2.5 inch piping installed and it flows and sounds awsome. not only is it cheap but you can really get a unique sounding exhaust

Wow i thought no one bought the ebay mufflers...are they worth it cause they have 10-25 dollars mufflers that i always see but never pay mind to because the price is so cheap i thought it was scam

Honestly you should look into getting a BRM magna flow system, you can get one for under $400.If you want the look of the Apexi N1 dual exhaust, SS auto chrome sells one for $250..

yeah, im with Vinnie. i bought that SSauto n1 dual 3in for 183 shipped.

on ebay if you search s13 n1 dual you can usually come up with a couple that start at about 129.00. you couldnt even build this system for that price.... in america.

anywho, the entire point of my post is you're going to be much happier if you get an exhaust with a resonator, like the ssac n1 duals. especially with a 3in on an N/A you will be about as loud as a striaght pipe.

i have the dc sports header too and no cat. before the header it was very very quiet, now its a bit louder. but you are going to want a resonator for sure.

i know ive heard that, but i also know that some negative reviews were as a result of people trying to use s14 exhausts on their s13s.

there is a video, actually several, tis easily found by searching. i posted the link once, but that was in a random thread.

so, no this one fits nice, clears the diff, and sounds great.

custom is the cheapest way to go and you can have it any way you want after having one custom made, i would never buy an exhaust ever again.

FYI thats way to expensive for Megan racing, and SS autochrome and Megan use the same chinese manufacturer for there exhaust systems and components.

isn't the S14 a 3 bolt flange (compared to a 2 bolt S13), that's why they wouldn't fit. if you go custom you will get aluminized steel (haven't seen a muffler shop that will bend stainless), stainless is lighter and MUCH less corrosion resistant. also haven't seen a muffler shop that has a mandrel bender.i went with megan 2-1/2 fully polished stainless mandrel bent cat-back for 290 shipped. megan was running a special many months ago. i'm sure if you tell them you're a NICO member you can get a discount. 3 inch will be LOUD and a resonator will not quiet it, only make it sound smoother (less raspy) unless you go with a 2in resonator (haven't heard of anyone doing that) would also defeat the purpose of installing a larger exhaust

nah, s14 isnt a three bolt flange. the only three bolt part is bolting the KA upper exhaust manifold to the lower part (which on s14s is he same as the sr20 downpipe)

dont buy an s14 exhaust for an s13 unless you wanna bring it immeditately to the muffler shop for some chopping.

my three inch isnt loud, but technically it goes through two resonators and two mufflers.... knock off n1 duals are the best of both worlds (2.5 and 3 inch)

I getting a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler put on this weekend, with the stock resonator cut out too. Exhaust on a budget, I can't chuck the cash for a cat back just yet.

i got the SSAC N1 duals for 173 shipped, a 3 inch resonated test pipe for 40, and then an offbrand header for 80 shipped.. almost all off of ebay, except for the test pipe.. i figure if the header busts, it was only 80 bucks so im not out that much money. Thats a little under $300 for a complete Stainless Steel header-back exhaust system

welp i didnt read too much of the thread.. but i read the first post and thought i'd tell ya that the deals are out there if you are patient enough

what kind of resonator is the stock one, how restrictive is it? would it make most straight-through mufflers sound pretty nice?

The stock one actually gets smaller in diameter than the rest of the intermediate piping. Its the most restrictive unit of the entire exhaust for the most part.
