Hi everyone - I just purchased my new 2011 EX35 RWD last week, and when I started taking it on the freeways, I noticed a high pitched humming/ringing noise. It's different than the one described in the other threads here where it's more of a high pitch electrical sound - mine is more of a high pitch vibration sound whenever I accelerate.
I took the car to the dealer yesterday and went on the freeway with the technician who also heard the same noise whenever I accelerated, mainly over 50mph. The technician believed the sound was coming from the rear.
After 24 hours of investigations, the dealer called me to let me know that basically nothing is wrong with the car. They tested an AWD which had no sounds whatsoever, but when they tested another RWD found the same noise to be there. Honestly, it sounds like you're driving a Ford or Buick or something ...it's that loud and annoying...I can't imagine that this really is a standard 'feature' for the RWDs.
Does anybody have any advice? The service records are documented in good details, with what I summarized above and equating the issue to the exhaust frame for RWD and that it is 'normal'...
