Ok, so I finally finally got my intercooler (greddy) and HKS SSQV with hotpipe for my 240sx with sr20det and everything is great except....

The engine momentarily cuts out at higher rpms when i am slamming on it, but then resumes full power in a split second. its like someone pressed the mute button for a half a second and tapped the brakes.

Another problem that is not as severe (at least i dont think so) is that my pulleys make a ton of noise. From the inside of my car with the windows rolled up you can hear it. I dont know how to describe it but it sounds unhealthy and pretty much forces me to drive windows down so the wind and exhaust dilutes the sound of it.

Finally, does anyone know where I can get some metal exhaust mounting brackets? A friend told me about them and how they can bring the exhaust closer to the body of the car, and it wont rattle. Exhaust is apexi n1 single.

Specs: (91 octane always, stock injectors, stock sr20 spark plugs, stock wires, walbro 255lph fuel pump, koyo radiator with massive electric fan, stock sr20 clutch and flywheel, greddy fmic hks bov and hotpipe, no power steering, no a/c)

Almost sounds like you have a miss, check your plugs abd change your fuel filter. As for your pulley's make sure all your belts are tight, they should have very little play but should not be easily moved.

I'd check the MAF and for a possible small boost leak. Are you throwing any codes?

Deatschwerks,

Can you please tell me how to check for codes and how to read them? Sorry, its a pretty noob question..

I dont have a check engine light (fyi)

Will check the belts asap. I will try to take a vid clip and post it on here so you guys can hear it? maybe get my pops to film from the passenger so you guys can see the power cut out, too.

I'm gonna go with ETT on this one. I would pull your plugs and give them a look. It sounds alot like a misfire to me.

I would personally check the gap on your plugs. I had the same issue as you. When I would rev past 6000 rpms my car would make a popping noise like it was dying. I came to find out that my plug gap was opened to much, the spark would blow out. Regap your plugs .030 and see if your problem dissapears or gets better. I might be totally wrong, but it sounds like my old problem.
