Everlast....new and improved???

OK, my beloved 21 year old heavy bag (made in USA) died back in January of this year.
It now resides on the wall of my workout building.

So, how is my new and improved (made in China) bag doing??

UGLY Stretch marks....
I've sent pics to Everlast to see what they will do about it.
What do you think they will do??
1. Replace it
2. Send duct tape
3. Nothing.

These two are the worst, but all are showing wear.....and it's only been less than 6 months....

The woman that I was talking to phone/email stopped cooresponding June 13th, so I called and spoke with another rep.
Sent her the emails that I had sent the first rep.
She responded same day that a new bag would be shipped in 7 to 10 days....we will see...

Noticed that the first reps email was [email protected].
I had thought that Ringside was a competitor, but checked their site and they have Ringside and Everlast bags for sale.

Really wanted to stay with Everlast, but so far not impressed with what they have to offer. Looked at several before buying this one.
I believe that the UFC bags are bigger around than what I wanted, but will look at again.

LOL! No Tyson here!!! I prefer chicken and beef to ears!!
I do have a fairly good roundhouse and side kick, but my other Everlast lasted 21+ years and wore out in the middle....not from poor quality.

They requested that I send pics of how it is hung...


Have a heavy duty spring to give the bag more life and absorb some of the shock from the kicks.

Below is the response to my pics. She was very nice when she returned my call and requested the pics. Sounded like she was a local. we will see....

Someone sent me one of those crazy emails the other day that you don't know whether to believe or not. It said that if you call a customer service and get a person with a foriegn accent, you can request to be transfered to someone in the United States. It said that it was a law. Don't know what I think about that. Dell drives me insane.

True, but breaking in a heavy bag will take 3 or 4 months or more....
However, the third one came Friday and feels already broken in compared to the first two!! And, I already see one stretch mark.
January 22, 2013 will be when my 1 year warranty is up. Pretty sure I'll be sending them more photos of bag number 3 well before that date.

I'll play the game and see what they say this next time....would be happy to keep the bags and get my money back.
When these wear out, I'll look for a used USA bag on Craigslist....lots of folks buy exercise equipment with good intentions.....
Curious to see what they say when the third develops stretch marks.

We are getting close to having to replace our treadmill. I'll surely look at used ones. Most people use them a week or two then they become drying racks for laundry.

I would LOVE to know how many miles ours has on it. The belt is about worn thin. I might see if I can find someone to just come do some maintenance. Those things weigh a ton and it is upstairs!

In my building, I have a:
Pacemaster treadmill - was rated very high by CR back when I bought it 10-15 years ago and is still working great!! Wife mainly uses it since I went to the elliptical.
Sole E35 elliptical - highly recommend!! Besides my heavybag, it's my main cardio method. Had been looking for an affordable one for years.
Hoist H210 2 station single stack weight machine.
Everlast heavybag...Chinese...three of them.....

I have the treadmill, recumbent bike and weights. I also work out by detailing my cars and cleaning my house. No maid for me. God blessed me with this healthy body, I'm going to use it.

it really pays to keep active!!!
I also do maintenance on 5 cars, yardwork and some house work.....I worked for a janitorial service while in jr high (14 yrs old), high school, and college, so I do know how to clean!!

LESS than 1 week old....only 3 workouts on the bag...
Two of the straps are already showing signs of fatigue....

Now, that they are finding elevated levels of lead in Chinese Halloween costumes, should I be concerned that due to there evidently being NO health standards or quality control in China that there might be asbestos or some other cancer causing filler in my heavy bag?!?!

Saturday I pulled everything out of my livingroom and cleaned under everything, washed the Z and was at my Mom's by 11:30 to take her out to lunch.

Everlast called. Asked if I would like an upgraded heavy bag.
Asked if I would like 80 or 100 pound. So, going to get an 'upgraded' heavier (100 pound) bag! Plus some new boxing gloves to help alleviate my frustration!

New upgraded bag arrived!! Fake Leather instead of the nevatear canvas and 100 pounds instead of 80. In addition, a nice set of boxing/bag gloves.
So, we will see how this one holds up. Can't complain too much since they have been very responsive......and now I have 4 bags....

Different color, same problem.... Have already sent email to Everlast asking what's next??
