Have no idea!! Was shocked to see that this 'upgraded' one was starting to show stretch marks.

And, Biggie, I'm only working out on this 2 times per week!! Rest of the time I'm on the elliptical getting my cardio. So, it's not like I'm pounding it like I did my 20 year old Everlast.
Also, this one feels like it has a brick mid way up on one side. Had to mark it with some duct tape to avoid it.
No fun kicking a brick with your shin!!!! :frown:
Wondering if Everlast makes any bags in the states anymore.

My fifth (5th) Chinese made Everlast in less than 1 year arrived today!
First three were the same, forth was an upgrade, fifth is another upgrade.
(I bought my first USA Everlast 100 pound bag in 1991 and it lasted until Jan 2012).

This one has rivets in the support straps. And, the sand bags are contained in the middle so that they don't shift out to the edge like my forth did.....my shins did not like the sand bag!!! :ohno:

Customer server has been outstanding!!! Only wish their product matched...
Here is a pic!! It has been hanging for 4 hours now and withstood it's first pounding.

Nice, good to hear a company that actually stands behind their products and customer satisfaction.

My double upgraded Everlast MADE IN CHINA Heavy bag that is supposed to have a center core of sandbags to ensure they stay in place has two brick hard spots on one side of the BAG...
I took a broom stick and tapped the areas and then the areas where it wasn't brick hard and send the VIDS to everlast expressing my concern over injurying myself....busted shins.
In an attempt to miss the hard spots, I did twist my knee which kept me off of the heavy bag for a couple of days.
Anyway, after they received the email and vids I got this in return.....
Hi Richard,

I did receive the video clips, we have decided to refund your money. You will receive a check in the mail in 2-3 weeks.

Thanks,
Andee

So, once I get my refund, I'll be shopping for a bag that is NOT made by EVERLAST.....
It just doesn't matter how good your customer service is if your product is crap...... :tisk:
5 crappy Everlast bags....ALL MADE IN CHINA!!!!
Have a nice day!!!

When it split open, I initially wrapped it in duct tape and that did work.
However, my shins didn't agree with that tape!!! It was like kicking a plastic pipe!
And, I didn't want to put on sparring gear just to work out on the bag.
So, to top half now hangs on the wall in my work out building.
I'll look on Craigslist for an older, USA made bag or a MMA bag....

My response to Andee at Everlast. She has been my main contact over the past 12 months via email and phone. This may sound a bit sappy, but wanted to continue taking the high road.

Thanks Andee!
Again, I appreciate the fantastic customer service that you and Everlast has provided over the past 12 months in hopes of providing me with a quality heavy bag to replace the Everlast bag that I purchased in 1991 that served me until late 2011 !!!

However, as far as the 5 defective bags go that I've received from Everlast I've been extremely disappointed in the quality of the bags to say the least.

Yesterday, I decided to investigate the problem with the hard spots on the last two defective bags. I pulled the stuffing out of the 100 pound TA100 black bag to find that the sand bags were up against the bag wall where I had marked the hard spots with duct tape. They were also busted. So, I used the shop vac and removed as much of the sand as possible and put it back together. No more hard spots, but I don't expect the straps to last very long due to the material fatiguing where they are attached as I reported in an earlier email.

Now, on to the PowerCore 100 pound bag. I was very interested in how this bag differed from the TA100 bag since the laminated tag shows and describes how "Powercore Sand chambers filled for softness" and "Center Aligned sandbag placement system for softness".

I was SHOCKED to find that internally it was the exact same as the TA100 bag!!
I took pics of both bags as I pulled the stuffing out. I was expecting some type of cardboard cylinder centered in the middle of the Powercore bag with bags in it.....or all of the bags tethered together in the center... No, it was EXACTLY the same as the TA100 bag!

I'm including the pics from the POWERCORE bag below.
Please have a manager call me to discuss! This is the root cause of the problem.
Somebody from Quality Control should be pulling samples of these bags and inspecting them as they get off of the boat from China.

I would be more that happy to allow an Everlast representative come to my residence to inspect the Powercore bag that I have if it would help Everlast improve their quality control procedures.

Again, I have never asked for anything more than a quality Everlast bag WORTHY of the Everlast name. To date, I haven't received one.
You may have given up, but I haven't. :)

Please advise.

I never received a return call, email or check.
Just called and spoke with a manager....they are at a loss as to why the Everlast bags I was sent were failing.....and did not know where my refund check was. She said that the matter was last with their VP (Stewart)...
So, she is supposed to call me back.
Interesting note. She tells me that the OUTER SHELL is imported from China, but the GUTS are made and stuff here in the States.
You would have thought that they would have at least put Assembled in the USA.

Not much comment on the bag that is supposed to have a center cylinder to keep the sand bags in the center being the same as the other...

Angie from Everlast called me back to say that they (her and Mr. Stewart - VP of operations) revieved everything again/

Mr. Stewart (VP of operations) has determined that the cause of the material failure is the spring that I have on the support chain...... :wtf2:

I have the spring there to reduce the impact to the support beam and the bag......

Do we have ANY mechanical engineers here that could give feedback on whether this could be the cause????? :gotme

I had my first bag hanging from this for the past 21 years before the middle wore out.

Here is the pic again.

So, received my refund check....72 bucks!!
They did offer to sell me a much heavier duty leather bag at a discount...but, I'm going to just use the two 100 pound bags I kept (gave away the other three 80 pounders). When and if they wear out, I'll worry about that then.
