I'm mostly curious about spring rates and valving. Will a bike shock be able to be valved to handle the extra spring force? Also, will the shocks be subject to overheating since they will be forced to work much harder than intended and little or no airflow to cool them?

ok, so you get pulled over right....i dont think a throwing a blanket over the track cat while a cop is approaching your hatchback is a good idea so good luck explaining contraption that and it not leading to further investigating of your car....and really only BH would have a "strut bar" like that with a stock KA so you are F'D in the SR if your hood is popped. (in california).

....PS, WOULD LIKE.

I agree that the setup looks cool and may be original. However if it truly is a superior setup from an engineering point of view wouldn't you think you would see it more often? I mean the price isn't that outrageous given the claimed benefits. Just some thoughts...

You would have more of a benefit going to z32 uprights in terms of unsprung weight reduction. Other than that you have the DISADVANTAGES of overheating the shocks that weren't designed to be damping on a car.

someone be brave and just try it cmon

Since these are bike shocks it opens doors to such things as:

Ohlin TTX which are some of the most advanced/hardcore shocks in the world at the moment:

Hate to drag up a dead post, but while researching coilover options i ran across this thread. Any news or reviews other wise? Interesting for sure.

^^^ Nope. The seller never answered any of our questions so no one felt brave enough to take the plunge.

Plus, once the novelty wears off, the price tag attached to such a setup kicks you in the grill and you quickly realize that a decently set up coilover system will do the same job for more than half the cost.
