As for ESSENTIAL MODS:

=Tokico HP Shocks

=Brake Upgrades - My most favored mod for the Q. The Q has great braking power but they also fade fairly quickly.

Other mods:

=Nice Wheels

=Air Intake - Great sound! Don't expect any gains... personally I might take mine off, its annoying.

=Exhaust - paired to a V8... Don't expect any gains with a legal system

Whatever is in my sig minus the wheels and tires. You can do 18s if you want. Also, rehabilitate the suspension to as new, plus all rubber parts everywhere.

I purchased these bulbs Jan 07 before I moved to Oklahoma and had to replace them in December . After reading on different forums concerning these bulbs, many agree that SS don't last long. Maybe Sylvania fixed the problem causing the SS to die quickly and called them Ultra SS bulbs + extra $10! Marketing I tell ya.

Oh, I didn't touch the bulb with my bare hands. Just need to throw that in.
I've had to replace 4 of mine in the last 2 years. Always the low beam, since my high beams almost never get used. I don't pay for new bulbs, because they come with a 1 year replacement warranty. Each time a bulb burns, I bring in the old bulb + receipt and I get a new bulb in exchange.

Hey QSIGUY, how is the STS turbo running? My cousin has their kit for hisExplorer but it's sitting in the garage. I'm thinking about getting it and tryto get it to work with the Q

If the $2k Brembo setup is needed, it may be safe to assume that the driver drives WAY too fast (for public roads) or takes his Q on a race course.
Try about $5K front and rear, parts only.

No one that I recall has done the FGY33 front upgrade, but a couple have done the rear FGY33/J30 rear vented upgrade. Don't know if the front calipers will plug-in at the correct offset.

Didn't realize he was talking about an FY33. I was referencing the price for the G50 Brembo kit.

If Z rotors will fit the Q and vice versa then it's safe to assume that all Z brakes will be interchangable with little to no mods. There are a ton of brake upgrades for the Z starting around $200. For about 500 you can upgrade to larger rotors with the necessary adapters for the caliper and then get some Z calipers and SS lines and you'll have a pretty good system.

I think...

That is just the front, not the big rotors and calipers for both ends.

$4k for brakes?

Why would someone deal with that? Jesus. What if they were installed one pair at a time? Aside from uneven wear between the two sets, what if the front were the Big Brembos and the rears were stock? Is that even possible?

Getting things out of balance is the major problem inthat factory brake bias is tough when you change anything: tires, pads much less major brake components.

Oem was near perfect in that they wore the pads amost equally at 22k +- 2k front and rear.................due to using the the rears more than most cars, they gained 3-5 even 10 feet compared to others of that era.

In a panic stop ABS [activation] just lengthens the stopping distances to preserve tires against flat spotting.

A simple panic stop from 60 will tell you by how many ABS activations you have how badly out of balance you have made the system................use an electronic counter to count the cycles and loacations rear vs front.

Every braked modded car I've driven was worse than just a perfect oem system...............in panic stopping cold or hot from 80. But I haven't driven them all!

Always good to review what they tried on 350z and the dismal results considering initial and future cost:http://www.zeckhausen.com/testing_brakes.htm

Best was 4 feet improvement out of 200 feet at 80> zero
