Engine wont start one click intermittent

I have a 2003 infiniti QX4. Once in a while, we-hen attempting to start, there is only one click in the ignition. If I play with it, it will eventually start. The problem is just getting more frequent. From what I've read, it is either the starter, starter solenoid, starter switch, or the Neutral safety switch. Is there any way to narrow it down?

A bad starter switch or neutral safety switch would not allow a single click of the starter solenoid. It's either the starter or starter solenoid. You are advised to replace the entire starter and solenoid as a unit.

Starter and solenoid are sold as one unit.
I'm not aware of anyone selling them separately.
