I'm putting a 97 ka24e that came out of a pickup into a 93 nissan pickup. I'm concerned on the intake ports being moldy different between the two, the 97's larger than the 93 where the injectors do there job. I am wondering if the 93's injectors will comply with the 97's intake ports? And the auto parts store showed me pictures of gaskets and the California's intake gasket was larger than the washingtons intake gasket so I don't know which to use? I'm stuck Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

So you are swapping just the 97 block and head into the truck, but still utilizing the 93 intake manifold?
I can't see an issue with that. All the injectors do is inject the fuel into the intake runners... as long as the runners eventually get to the head, you'll be fine.

Nissan might have changed the design to get the fuel to be injected into an area of more air turbulence or something, to aid with atomization/combustion/emissions/fuel economy, but the old manifold should still work.

awesome thank you for the input and which gaskets should be used in your opinion? There are a couple different kinds when it comes to the intakes. Should I go with the one that fits the 93 intake better or the 97 head better? Thank youuu

Good question. Do you have any pictures of the 2? Both intake, head, and gaskets of the 2 would be helpful.

I typically use whatever works with the head, but I'm not ruling out a different scenario here.

Yup! That way if someone else wants to chime in (or search for this same issue later), they can.

You have to use a photo hosting service like photobucket or something first.

If you don't want to fool with all of that, you could just email them to me at [email protected], and I can host them for you. Just make sure you label and describe them well.

Got the pictures but I'm not sure which is which (they aren't labeled).
In any event, get the gasket for whichever one has the larger ports.

I swapped a 97 engine into my old 91 truck a few years ago. Just use your 93 intake and bolt it up to the 97 engine. You have to change out the timing chain cover as well to be able to use the correct dizzy in your 93.
