would you happen to know if the Z32 5spd fits into the Ka bellhousing? or did they have to lots of banging and cutting?

The KA24/RB20/SR20 transmission has the shifter in the transmission while the Z32 transmission has a shift linkege setup. KA transmission is long and slender, the Z32 transmission is short and stubby. Will it fit? I dont know, but if I had to guess I would say probably not without some modification :smoker

wrong its all about the car. i have a book from the 70's that tells all about how to make cars handle. they made a huge station wagon pull over a g. you just need to know what parts to use and a whole lot about suspentions

you are both wrong. its all about the moon. the way the moon affects the gravitational pull on your tires. my car handles like a dream in the morning, but when the pull lessons, just like high tide at night, my car just doesnt stick as good. the key is to rub chocolate milk all over your stires. its just like traction compound, only cheaper.

Off the subject...

Will a KA bolt to a RBAWD transmission??

If not what mods?

That would require a custum transmission tunnel and a custom bell housing and a GTR front subframe adapted to the 240. So basically, not without ALOT of money.

Why not just get a AWD KA transmission from a nissan pickup?

Well, I have owned a Trans Am and a 240 and I have to say that it all depends on the road conditions. There are some roads my T/A would have handled better because the extra weight added stability. And there are some roads that my 240 handles better because it is lighter and more nimble. So just like everything in life there are positives and drawbacks to any setup. And hows about a GM LS1 swap ??? Its an all aluminum V8 that makes 300hp stock. And there are stand alone pcms with wiring harnesses available from GM specifically for swapping that motor into any car. The only downside is it has to be used with an auto transmission to use the stand alone pcm. But hell, if I had a 300hp v8 in my 240 I wouldnt care what kind of transmission in it. Or you could always get a pcm for a standard transmission equipped car from a scrapyard, but it would require more work to adapt (still no big deal)

There is a mechanic that'll drop a sbc 350 in just about anything. He just did this guy's car (a 89' RX7) for, get this, $400 running. So for less than $1000 you could have a runner! For the price of an SR swap, really half that, you could have a 300+hp beast...

As someone that was into american muscle from '88 to '97, here is my view. I'd go with the 400 block with the 350 crank... custom driveshaft??... The drive shaft can be shortened. A drive shaft can't be lengthened. Unless the 240 drive shaft can't handle the added power. The pre '80 v8 has a different engine mount location(on the block) then the post '80's. Make sure you get the right motor mount for your year v8. I'd go with a motor plate....unless theres something in the way??? Plus....damn cheaper then custom made mounts and a plate has more header designs to chose from... By the way...if you get the right frame tower, you won't have to get a custom motor mount from "texas" Anything i'm missing???

When i say into, i mean i had a '67 r/s camero(stock 327ci) and '74 vega(350ci) in '86, '70 nova(350ci) in'88, '72 nova(307)in '89, '72 nova(350ci) in '93 and a '75 vega(350ci) in '97. THe nova in '88 ran low 10's(525hp+175(nos) with nitrous and the engine in the nova in the('93)'72 nova and '75 vega(same motor) ran 11's in a '70 chevelle with nitrous. The chevelle guy stuck a 454ci in his car afterwords and ran slower!!
