that would be the oil catch can my friend ... if you dont like the the way it looks...they make after market ones in shiny stuff...nice for thing for silly lil kids to go "ooooh shiny"....and all you do is disconnect the hoses and then youre all gravy...good luck getting the rest of the head off...it's a bi@#$ without the motor out...course i have big hands....so if you keep a small chinese boy under your hood... like i do ...then it should be no problem good luck

thats what i thought...and on the other side of the hose...where is it supposed to connect? cz when i got the car, the other side of the hose was open and it did not connect to anything....my friend said it supposed to go connect to the intake side, but some how the guy plugged the intake side, so it is open, and my friend suggested me to buy an oil catch can for the other side. is it true? I am sorry that my english is not perfect. and by the way, yeah..we did take out the head. we did it until 1 am last night

yah, that hose is supposed to go to the intake befor the turbo, and you do want to hook that up, it creates vacuum inside the crankcase which prolongs ring life.

so that is really weird....cz the hose was not connected at all...no wonder the oil splashed all over....so do you think no matter what i should just hook them up after i put everything back in?

deffinatly, not having it hooked up with cause excessive piston ring wear, if you have excessive oil blowby and you dont want to dirty up your intake system, get yourself a second oil catch can for it
